...that was the display of an overrated underperforming confidence lacking footballer. Mind you, both Kane and Alli were not far behind. We also cried out for a centre back who could bring the ball out of defence. Can anyone think of one?
Your definition of "brilliant" is clearly different to mine. Sturridge had it all to do when he got it, largely by luck. There was the brilliance.
Touch and weight of the ball was perfect. If it wasn't perfect the move breaks down. Brilliant assist and an even better finish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He's still quality but he was clearly poorly advised in going to City. Everyone knew that. Don't blame Roy for sticking with him. A full firing Sterling is a great asset. He's just taken a step back. I hope he doesn't get frozen out under Pep as he still has a great England future.
Alli was poor today Chris overall. Still a great talent, and here's hoping that talent doesn't disappear to wherever Raheems has gone. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
sterling was totally off it in the first half and should have been taken off earlier. harry kane was a big let down yet again but what can a striker do with a 1 up front role, especailly as his only help up front was sterling!! (what the hell was hodgson thinking about). ok he did make the necessary changes and we did get the result we deserved, but why didnt he make these changes that we needed against russia.
Whenever I see Raheem Sterling's camp running style I for some reason think of Leee John from erstwhile 80s soul funksters Imagination. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PK5CecplzsM
I don't get why he refuses to play 4-4-2, with Vardy and Kane, the two best strikers this year playing as strikers. If you want to play Rooney in central midfield, as he has been, then fine.
Give me the likes of Martin Bullock and Lloyd Isgrove any day! Martin could run past people, pass the ball and shoot. Lloyd can do all that as well, plus score headed goals at Wembley Sterling must have had some talent at some stage but he's doing a great job of hiding it. Drop him from the team until further notice would be my suggestion to Mr Hodgson. Think he would listen?
Have you got a video of the goal? I've not seen it back really, but in real time I thought it looked an innocuous 'assist' if at all.
