Err take it you didn't see the first two games when he started dictated play sprayed the ball all over the park with nearly 100% accuracy FFS 30 mins to try and change trudgery
Eric Dier was having to do the job of 4 men until Rooney came on. I'm no fan of Rooney, and wouldn't have taken him to be honest, but he played well in the two opening games. Him, Dier and Alli to start next game. Sent from my SM-T710 using Tapatalk
He did well in the first 2 games because he was against **** teams who gave him all the time in the world. A decent side which can press, pass and move with pace will take the piss out of him.
I can't stand Rooney normally (he seems to have grown up a bit at last though) but even in my opinion he was your best player against Wales.
No, I just think that in the grand scheme of teams in the competition Wales and Russia are a bit ****. I've no delusions, I think England are a bit **** as well.
They aren't world class for sure, but there are no truly **** teams in this tournament. You might expect the likes of Iceland or Wales or Hungary to be ****, but what they lack in talent, they make up for in passion and dedication.
He was trying too hard when he came on but we'd took our creative players off in Sturridge & Lallana & he was having to force things. This post is harsh because over the first 2 games he was probably our 2nd best player behind Walker
You do know that one of the best things a midfielder can do is switch the play don't you? You do know that Ray Wilkins played for some of the biggest clubs in the world don't you?
To be fair Clyne was excellent. Can see an arguments for us missing Rose, Rooney & Alli as none of Bertrand, Henderson & Wilshere performed well
Hopefully England will mirror Barnsley and be useless in the group stages (before Christmas) and storm the knockout stages (after Christmas)
