"Colemans Left Hook" comments, WTF is he on about? he seems to have limited knowledge of the loan market.. http://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=257881.0
They sound just like us, bless em.. 'What's the world coming to, anything with Barnsley in it and it's described as stable?....' Obviously not seen this forum..
He also seems to think that a manager is unable to make any decisions in the 2 weeks following a defeat due to being reduced to a "nervous wreck".
It's an interesting point. He's on about us breaking financial rules with the money spent on loans - anyone know if he might be right/onto something? Do loan players wages count towards the spending limits? What are the chances the wages of those four coming in pushed us up/when did Crowley and them leave?
Surprising what a quick whip around the local clubs forums to see what they think of their opening fixtures brings up. They are a bitter lot, the biggest footballing chip on their shoulder known to man, best left on their own again in the basement division. Lets hope that's the last we see of them, looking forward to Rotherham again, a club who's forum was full of congratulations after our Wembley win.
In fairness imagine this place if we'd been relegated this season.. It was bad enough when a few posters decided we were down in November
Long, Toney, Chapman, Fletcher, Connolly, Brownhill. The loans we used in the second half of the season. Taking Long out of it, I would be absolutely stunned if the rest cost us anything of note in the grand scheme of things. Young kids who hadn't played much, if any football until joining us. I doubt Long's raking it in at Burnley either. Hammill and White were free agents so irrelevant. I've no idea who is key to our recruitment at Oakwell. I can only assume it's a collective thing?
If there have been financial irregularities, at least Ben will hit the ground running at Leeds... Saying that, he hits the ground walking n'all.
I genuinely don't know how it works either. I'd say you're probably right and it's a collective thing. However, I can't see how Hammill and White would be irrelevant due to being free agents when we signed them, if we had a cap based on a percentage of our turnover. If that's the case, surely it doesn't matter where they signed from? What are the chances we could've been bending some rules to fund players being brought in, giving Aidy White a contract as a dinner lady or something? PS any legal bodies reading this is tongue in cheek - I'm merely wondering about possibility not accusing.
A football forum where members spout ill-informed nonsense about things they know little about? Whatever next?
