I'm more than happy for you all to toddle off. I would have been incredibly annoyed if the UK had stayed just because of Scotland.

I'm a unionist Ian, I believe in the UK and as I have nothing against Scots or Scotland whatsoever I would much prefer to see Scotland in a strong UK than in a week EU. Sturgeon doesn't want independence at all, she just wants to be in a different club. I understand her reluctance to be governed from London but fail to see how being governed from Brussels will be any better for her / you.

    With respect 'n all that.

Hmm I'm not sure on your view on what Nicola wants mate. Never thought about her wanting to be a bit different but I'm do believe she does want an Independent Scotland. But I could very well be wrong here.

My own view is she gambled on a Scot remain vote and an English leave vote. Well it has happened and she has wasted no time in bringing up the Independence question again. Possibly striking while the iron is hot.

My own personal view is I'd rather she just waited a while to take stock of all that has happened and then make her move after a bit more is known of the situation.

Exactly, surely you're better off in a democratic union than an undemocratic one?

And what about when the majority of English people voted Conservative but got Blair because of the Scottish vote?

    Wasn't that undemocratic too?

Agreed but here in Scotland for years we have lived within a very undemocratic system having returned to Westminster Labour MPs and very few Tory ones and yet we got Governments we did not vote for. Over 50 SNP MPs returned and yet still governed by a Tory led Government making decisions we don't want.

Scotland being part of the UK, they have greater devolved powers (still a long way to go) and work as part of a 'club' that has been together for centuries.

Scotland being part of the EU, doubt they will get much in the way of devolved powers, and will be part of a club that hasn't got much right for the best part of 40 years and still has years to go on that front.

Either way, she is playing the independence card without telling her people there will be very little by way of actual independence.

SNP obviously want Independence...it had no bearing on yesterday's result , only the timing .
Could I ask.... Do you think people in Scotland actually voted and believe positively in the EU yesterday Ian...or did they vote for the SNP as if it was a general election .
My guess is that it was the latter...whats your view?

Andy I don't think she has to tell the people as we already know.

2 years for UK to leave and hearing that the French are making moves about a similar referendum there. IMO in 2 years the EU will be no more. Past its sell by date and usefulness. Big changes ahead
