Amazing how many people who voted leave said to me that even if we remained it would not be the end of it. Now they are all over the place saying that's it decided so shut up and get on with it. I'm going to remind them every day what they've done. They better get used to it!
That really isn't what he's trying to do - he's responding to reasonable requests from other users. The level of referendum posts is unprecedented so I think it's ok to move them to another area within the forum. I'm also pretty sure that this rule won't apply to all the other non football posts.
You have to remember that andytyke has already tried to do this before and has tried to force people to use designated threads. He is trying to hugely alter the BBS to match his vision of perfect and to be honest it's disgusting. It isn't HIS BBS and he even admits that his unilateral decision would be unpopular. If he knew it was going to be unpopular with the members and the ONLY change would be to the users experience (ie it serves no other purpose) then it takes one hell of an ego or power trip to press ahead with that change anyway.
This forum is very different to other forums with its multiple match day threads all saying exactly the same thing but I think the consensus opinion is that it's unique and trying to change it isn't really worth the effort. The referendum threads are different - there was a point yesterday when the first football related thread was near the bottom of page one. Andy has only created a new area for referendum threads which I think is reasonable. He even posted the link to make it easy to navigate to.
stop being a clown, I tried once to have an official match day thread and it failed and I never tried again. That was because many had asked for it not because I wanted it. There is actually an admin section you know where things are discussed.
And yet even he admits it is going to be unpopular. Something that ONLY affects the member experience being unpopular with the members. Sounds like a cracking idea to me. No coincidence that it's the leave campaigners wishing to hide it either
no mate I said I would like footy - non footy but I wouldn't go that far because I know it would be unpopular. I don't think current affair describes everything non football does it. This is actually a football forum about BFC, can't you understand that some people would be unhappy about having to wade through 100 political threads
I don't think it is just leave campaigners; the thread last night asking for this included posts from both sides. The board was completely dominated by referendum posts and even for people who have a healthy interest in politics it was getting a little tedious. Nobody is banned from posting about the referendum, they've just been politely asked to use another area of the forum.
It's over, it's done, life goes on now let's get back to posting transfer rumours and slagging Mansford off. Sent from my iPhone
