Just moved almost 100 referendum / politics threads created over the last 48 hours to a new Current affairs Section.

So for the time being If you would like to continue posting about the referendum please post in that section.

    http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/forumdisplay.php?155-Current-Affairs

Personally id prefer a football section and a non-football section for all posts but no doubt that would be unpopular :)

Can we have a leprechaun section. I like leprechauns more than people.

To be fair, there's not really anything happening in the football, whereas in current affairs the biggest political event in our generation has just happened. It's not like this normally.

One of the great things about this site is the variety of posts you get. I dislike most other football forum sites where they categorise everything as people don't bother posting in them, and then you get a match day thread with 300 posts to trawl through

I agree that the threads should have stayed where they were. Look at the other sections of this board we have. They are absolutely dead and never used because people want all their reading easily accessible in the same section. We now have a dead main section because there is so little to talk about with football. I'd rather we had created a board section for silly transfer rumours.

We signed a new player yesterday, unlike on any other forum we allowed lazy people to post about six Seperate threads about it. Yet each one of them was in the second page due to people a new thread everytime they had a different thought about the referendum.

There no wonder so many people on here voted to remain, as you hate owt slightly different to normal

There is a huge irony of the fact that you have moved discussion about a vote after unilaterally taking a decision based on YOUR personal preferences against the wishes of the majority.

You clearly don't like the format of the BBS because despite it having used a single forum, multiple thread format for almost 20 years you are desperate for it to change to a format which matches the many others out there. Why not just go use those instead?

You clearly aren't keen on lazy bbsers ewhp hate anything different either so again why not go use another message board? If the answer to that is because you like this one most then stop trying to change it

i'd say it's been like it for almost 30 years. No I'm not desperate to change the format, I said how I preferred it and stated that I know it would be unpopular.

I made the change because quite a few had asked for it, either in the thread posted or by pm. I have moved 4 1/2 pages of threads posted in just 2 days. It wasn't just a few off topic threads, it was taking over the forum and boring this hell out of some people.

its no surprise your the one kicking up a fuss as usually because something has changed. When Gally changed the format of the bbs to this from threaded we could have created a Seperate section for all your complaints.

And the BBS hasn't recovered from changing to threaded yet. It is still significantly more unpopular than it used to be.

Out of 2515 members how many have asked for this change?

How many? Come on. You have unilaterally made a decision that affects over 2000 members and was made knowing that it would be an unpopular decision so you should be up front enough to say how many people asked for this change.

ill say again there is only really 1 person moaning as usual. I don't want every non footy post to be put in that section ffs. Just the Referendum stuff which is taking over the forum.

This has been done before with the gaming section, not created by me when people complained about it.

I thought about that last season but didn't do it because I though people would moan and no one would stick to it. This is just temperature for the referendum stuff as it was taking over the forum, no ones gonna start seperating up the forum and asking you to post in different sections per topic

I don't really mind a separate referendum area and it did get a bit crazy yesterday but I think that was because it was the same day. It would have calmed down naturally by itself without the need to dictate what people can and can't do. Either way, I don't really care about the decision to move the posts, that's neither here nor there to me.

What I do care about is you randomly insulting people for no reason. There was no need to call people 'lazy' you could have made the same point without that adjective. Same goes with insulting people who voted remain (ironically right here on this forum where you don't want people to talk about it - go post that in your 'current affairs' section not here thanks.)

it may have calmed down, but those threads were already hiding lots of other threads which were immediately pushed back 2 or 3 pages.
Im describing the way in which people post multiple threads on the same topic without checking first as lazy. As for the other insult im sure most people saw it for the joke it was and didn't feel insulted.

Are referendum jokes ok on here then? Here's mine:

The United States and Britain are having a competition on who can mess themselves up the most. Britain's in the lead, but America has a Trump card.

    ;)
