Leaked seven days early. Took the edge off this crazy day. They're still producing crappy punk rock, 24 years strong. Loving it. Just that.
They've even done a ballad, acoustic, sounds like an amazing version of summat that would be number one all over the world if One Direction had recorded it. They're not racist. They like all coloured dicks. Black, white and yellow. (in-joke)
I'm loving it. It's more like the old blink before Tom started to bring 2 minute intros and instrumentals in with space effects etc. It's fast, simple, pop punk. Very lively album with a summer feel to it. Still the odd darker moment which I like, and Home Is Such A Lonely Place which is like nothing they've ever done. Matt Skiba delivers. He's not Tom, obviously, but he's that good you don't miss Tom. In an ideal world, Tom gets this alien nonsense out of his system and returns to make it an awesome foursome. Best song on the album? Los Angeles for me. Another song that's nothing like they've ever done. Only turned it off at 2pm to watch the match.
Previous singer now spends his time looking for UFOs, WTF! I don't consider them punk though, frigging Busted are more punk than they are.
Punk is a young man's game. They're 40, have kids and live nice lives. Music taste changes with age/life, and I'm sure it's the same for them. From a musical stand point, it's probably a better sound than anything they've done before.
The biggest punk band on the planet. Study the facts: http://poly-graph.co/punk/ The definition of punk rock: loosely defined as short, simplistic, aggressive rock songs that present a reaction to the overwrought popular rock style of the era Call them *****, idiots, crap, whatever. But they are as punk as it gets.
Not a fan of punk at all but if I think of punk I think of bands like Discharge, GBH or The Exploited. I'd call Blink 182 power pop.
a loud, fast-moving, and aggressive form of rock music, popular in the late 1970s. "punk had turned pop music and its attendant culture on its head" Punk rock was dead by the end of the 70s. Were Blink 182 even born then? What followed was a load of rich kids in leather jackets playing recycled pop music. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Blink are about as Punk as an old Etonian. Punk is youth. Punk is rebellion. Punk is dead. This s no comment on their music which is an ok blend of power pop but not punk. Punk died with Sid.
