I know I'm being a bit greedy. After all, we've signed five new players & re signed Hammill and White. But now I want more!
Just had a look on news now. All that has come up today really is this from the YP "Barnsley have told by two clubs to up their offers for transfer targets. The promoted Oakwell club have already one bid for Plymouth’s 23-year-old captain Curtis Nelson, who becomes a free agent at the end of the month, rejected and Charlton are said to have turned down an opening bid from the Reds for winger Callum Harriott. "
this might sound stupid but why are we bidding at all for a player that will be a free agent in 1 week?
Perfect week next week would be Bradshaw, Isgrove and Nelson. Doubt any will happen like. Also heard fletcher is out of our budget and will go to leeds
Contracts end of Thursday- would expect some movement this week. Would like some of our bigger players tied down to longer contracts
I would have thought contracts had to be revisited to up the wages after a promotion ,Ranieri said this was normal practice when Leicester upped Vardys wages ready for a champions league.
Love how you've construed this to be fact Payne was mentioned in a reply never confirmed as him and I think the EU comment was a little tongue in cheek, Christ this is how was start he said she said Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That was my point though I thought if wages were to go up they would have to sign a new contract. Which should have input two ways.
I would have thought that we should clinch the Curtis Nelson deal, even if it has to go to tribunal. I think we stand a good chance with Callum Harriott, especially as we already have Moncur and now Lee with Colchester links. Might be scuppered if Ipswich put in an offer. I would seriously like to see Fletcher with us for the season, but it seems unclear whether he has refused Manchester United's contract offer, or intends to take it up now (or a better one), or if Leeds will offer him a better deal via loan, or permanent signing. Somehow, the only way I think we will see him in a Barnsley shirt again is if he signs a new contract with Man Uinted and we can bring him back by his own choice on a season-long loan. If not, we could do with one more striker.
