Hopefully they do get him, and he starts for them in our first home fixture. Not good enough.

He was linked with Aston Villa earlier in the summer, too. I fancy our chances more against Kane Hemmings than Rudi Gestede or Chris Martin.

He knew where the net was, it was just is all round play.. always looked lost. Scottish football seems to suit.

Very good finisher but always behind play in league one. He was overweight at Barnsley too which didn't help.

I agree although I wasn't despondent when he left however I'd like to see the player he could be if he was given a chance with Hecky.

That's a point. He was managed very poorly by Wilson who often played him out wide.

We saw the player that made Winnall look when LJ did the same with him.

I think we were too quick to get shut of him.

He never really had a good run in the side, and seemed a fair finisher.

I'm not for one minute saying that I saw anything which would make me feel he'd be playing at the top end of the championship anytime soon, but considering we brought Connor Wilkinson in as a replacement who's goalscoring record is considerably poorer (thankfully only on loan), I think Kane was a little hard done by.

It was weird to release him after barely any run in the team playing up front. Especially considering we brought in Smith, Wilkinson and Toney afterwards...

Derby aren't in for him. Agent talk.

I was in a tiny minority who rated him when he was here. I saw enough in him to keep him on. BFC didn't. And it's difficult to argue with that considering we've just been promoted and won a cup competition with a 24 goal striker.

I think a L1 club 'might' fancy a look at him considering his achievements last season. But I'd be astonished if a Championship club took him, and beyond stunned if Derby was that club.

Feel free to bump this when he signs this summer at the iPro. :D

Hemmings wasn't a replacement for Pinball was he? I personally thought Hemmings and Pinball (Pinball but it autocorrected and I liked it so in keeping it) together was the key.

With your personal knowledge do you know if players generally know about potential signings quite a lot in advance or are they generally speaking kept in the dark?

I only know the source for the Hemmings link is an agent. That's not to say clubs aren't looking, but I'll eat my own elbows if he ends up at a Derby or Villa this summer.

And I wasn't suggesting Winnall replaced Hemmings or vice versa. Just that it's futile bemoaning his departure when Winnall scored 24 goals as we won two trophies at Wembley.

And I can count on one hand the posters who liked Kane when he was here..
