Locally a UKIP counsellor was complaining that the Polish students coming to Aberystwyth University had completely swamped the culture in the town. When he asked how many are there – he replied “200,000” In reality the town is only about 15,000 in total and the University has less than 6000 students. Unfortunately when we now lose our few hundred Polish students, we will be economically unviable and if the University goes bust – so does the whole local economy.
Mine has to be Cameron claiming that if we stay in the EU we can make further reforms. Only for Juncker to say that British voters have to know that there will be no kind of renegotiation. We have concluded a deal with the Prime Minister. He got the maximum he could receive and we gave the maximum we could give.. Either that or Cameron trying to cover his Tracks on the Turkey joining issue. Showed himself to be a right idiot, even if it might be years n years before it happens all he had to do was admit he backed it and the issue would have probably gone away..
Not from a politician but overheard in the pub on Saturday night. " I voted out because I don't want my daughter to have to wear a veil". And " I voted out to stop decisions being made by Sharia courts". Also anecdotally from a friend who's gran voted stay some people in her lunch club voted Leave because they literally thought they were voting for immigrants to have to leave the country. Pure genius.
Plus the classic one that seems to be they voted remain because they didn't want to get thrown out of Euro 2016 or Eurovision... Must have been a challenging decision making process..
Oh yeah forgot about that one haha... This video pmsl... Really are people this dumb ?? https://www.facebook.com/212667045793913/videos/212815595779058/
Either the blatant and deliberate hat all the money would go to the NHS or the absolutely stupid thought that leaving the EU will stop none EU immigration or of course the poster about us being at breaking point showing immigrants in ANOTHER COUNTRY or it could be that the EU us unelected. **** it it's pretty much anything that the racists and bigots have said. And by that I mean johnson, farage and co because they said these things knowing they were lies, i do not mean it in reference to the people who fell for their lies.
Cameron to Scotland during our referendum. If you want to remain within the eu you will have to vote to remain part of the UK. Well that worked out well.
What would have happened to Scotland's EU status if they had left? Would they have had to apply for membership or been given automatic membership?
The biggest misconception seems to be That this was a general election and we've elected 'Vote Leave'
Re: The biggest misconception seems to be Biggest misinformation -- Cameron claiming he had got an excellent deal following his renegotiations with the EU countries. He hadn't and the electorate knew it and then we realised how little control we had over our own affairs ............ the rest is now history. The party manifestos at the imminent?? general election will be interesting - any fudging on the issue of leave from the Tories or Labour will see a massive swing to UKIP. slightly off-topic - my aged neighbour, a loyalist, voted to leave because she thought that the Queen was in favour of us leaving!
Re: The biggest misconception seems to be That was down to the Sun running a couple of front page stories claiming that she wanted to leave. Buckingham Palace complained and said that she was imparital.
