I have just booked flights and hotel for the Belgrade derby in September. Partizan Belgrade vs. Red Star Belgrade. Flight plus 2 nights in a hotel for £150.
Wow. On the one hand I'm jealous, that should be really interesting. On the other......errrrrr .....stay safe!!! Actually I'm sure you'll be fine and it sounds a snip at £150.
I want to do the Sarajevo derby too, but it's on the opening day of the season(in about 3 weeks), so decided to start with Belgrade. No risk, no fun!
lol, I took mrs churton to see Ajax Capetown v Kaiser Chiefs a couple of years back. Played in the World Cup stadium in Capetown. Had to walk through some iffy areas to get to the ground, lots and lots of Chiefs fans around, first night in the city. We were a bit nervous. They were all actually great, had a fabulous night, the fans were amazing, footy ok and even the better half loved it.
My mate has been to the past 3/4 Belgrade derbies and he says the atmosphere is just mental/bonkers. The kind of game you want to be sober for to take it all in, and of course to keep your wits about you! Tickets are about a fiver as well. Absolute bargain of a trip.
