    HAMMERS MEDICAL FOR UNITED STARLET

Manchester United striker Ashley Fletcher will undergo a medical at West Ham ahead of a proposed move to the Olympic Stadium, Sky sources understand.

The 20-year-old striker will become a free agent when his current deal at Old Trafford expires this summer.

If completed, United will be due a compensation fee for the player who came through the club's youth system.

Very good move for him and best of luck to him for the next stage in his career. Just hope should they wish to loan him out, that we'd be first in line!

That's a good point though he looks to be signing for west ham he will more than likely spend next season in the championship on loan....somewhere!

    Season long loan, please.

Let's be reight though, he looked better as each week went by. Glad we were a massive part of his development. Chances are he'll never achieve anything that tops what he did here. Such was his impact. Reight laiker. Can't speak highly enough of him, just holding on to the idea that he might return on loan. I think it'd serve him and West Ham well. We'll see.

Pleased for him glad he hasn't gone to another championship team. I have no doubt he will play consistently in the Pl before long. My favourite goal was the one he scored v walsall in league was class. That on against millwall want bad either Hopefully if he gets loaned out we will be in there because I think he will score goals in championship too.

I'm really pleased for him but still harbour lingering hope that they will loan him out.

Top man. He came on so much in his time here you could see him getting better game by game.

    Good luck to him.

I reckon West Ham would want to see what he can do in champ before he plays in prem.

League 1 to premiership? Hugggge step up.

We'll have him on loan I reckon

Sounds like he has his head screwed on rate. Doubt he'd be around the Man United squad - and that's without Mourinho at the helm! good luck to the lad.

Wouldn't see the point of them loaning him out. Sign someone, pay compo and then don't play them. Fletcher wants to play regularly which is (if media is to be believed) why he didn't want to sign a new contract and Man United.

I'd think it's dead and buried now.

Cracking move for the lad. Really hope he does well there. Will be tough but seems to have the attitude to rise up to the challenge.

There's definitely a point to loaning him out. They're taking a gamble on someone who they don't know will be good enough for the premiership, but the compo will be so insignificant to West Ham that it's low risk. The next step is to give him a season in the championship, and if he looks like he can make the step up to the prem then he comes back and competes in the squad. If he doesn't look like he is prem calibre, then they can sell him to a championship club on the back of the loan and still make a net profit.

A loan move makes a lot of sense from both business and football perspectives. I'll be very surprised if he doesn't go somewhere on loan next season.

Not sure why you can't see a point to loaning him out.

    Everything about it makes sense.

One of your best posts ever.

They'll have paid peanuts. We're talking about a club who could and will no doubt spend a fortune this summer. Not a cat in hell's chance of him making their first team. I don't say that as a dig at Fletcher. I say that knowing they're debuting in a new stadium, they're rolling in it financially and are pursuing some of the world's best forwards. They've clearly seen enough in Ashley to give him a chance, it's low cost, it's helping towards their quota of homegrown talent.

He was never going to get in at United. I doubt Rashford will see much action either. Mourinho is all about the here and now. Hence Zlatan.

He'll be going out on loan. I hope we beat Leeds and others to him. He'll play here regularly with less pressure.

Time will tell. But dead and buried as of the 1st of July? Naaew.

    Genuine question.

Doesn't he only count towards their quota if they include him in their 25 man squad? If he's going out on loan he won't make the squad so won't impact on home grown?

They may see him as an excellent prospect who may not be quite ready for the premier league just yet so a loan to a championship club who will continue his development could be an attractive option. In that case we must surely be at the front of the queue.
