Signed for Newcastle for a rumoured £12 & and £10 million respectively.... How do we compete with that?
All about team spirit as well. I'd like to see some of these big spenders if it doesn't work for them, could they match ours of last season to get them out of the muck.
Hammill and Winnall cost us a pittance. Wouldn't swap them for those two and their huge fees and respective salaries. But you're right, it's ****** up isn't it, knowing what we're up against. Newcastle failed last season. They're given parachute payments to help with that. To help with the financial hit they're meant to feel. ****** up is them spending such money on more over-priced UK footballers. No wonder England are *****. Rewarding failure is a very English thing. He's *****. They are though signing Ross McCormack too, for a paltry £11m. That's Sheffield Wednesday. And £11m. In the same sentence. Welcome to the nut house.
All of our players have two arms and two legs. They are comfotable on the ball and fit as butchers dogs. It is not how much your stupid price tag is that defines you, it is how you perform individually and collectively. When Jamie Vardy was asked how much his game had developed since Stocksbridge PS he replied "Hardly at all, just a more professional attitude." The players at our club have greatness in them, some need a little help (good management) , some will just have the right mentallity and some will fail.
Oh aye I agree he's *****, and a massive tw@t, but it illustrates just what a different league we are in now.
And I'm happy to be here. Much more exciting/interesting making my way to Oakwell or an away day knowing we're playing Wolves, Derby, Wednesday, Forest, Villa, Newcastle than it was last season against Shrewsbury, Oldham, Millwall and dem blades.
Parachute money apparently intended to help pay wages of players that clubs took down with them. But we really know it's to try and get the Prem family back as one
