    What?

I said you can question him due to his profession, there is zilch to say he is a cheat so how can you question his character?

The two go hand in hand. If there is a question over his career due to argue then there is also a question over his character.

He should have thought about it before he put media and money over his profession

Rio Ferdinand once missed a drugs test. Raheem Sterling is a ****. By your logic Conor Hourihane is a drug test avoiding ****.

It's mental that you've got people questioning Cavendish on a football forum when you've got 2 proven dopers in Conte & Guardiola taking over at Chelsea & City who's teams always play with a 'high intensity style' in a sport that doesn't even bother to do blood testing.

We've got a side who's just won the league having come from nowhere who play at a high intensity who's manager has come through a league rife with doping over the past 20 years.

We've got whistleblowers reporting a doctor to the UK anti-doping claiming that Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester & Birmingham were all using him to dope players yet 4 months later there's been no investigation.

And it's not only football our supposed best athlete is Mo Farah who's linked to more dodgy coaches than Lance Armstrong.

Tyson Fury is under investigation for nandrolone use from 18 months ago & Joshua looks like he's on HGH 3 times a day.

There's very few British athletes at the highest level I'd put a lot of money on been clean. Cav's one of them. He's about the last of our worries. At least he's in a sport that tries to catch drug cheats.

    Erm...

"His career, I might reluctantly agree, even as a mad cycling enthusiast"

You reluctantly agreed that there will always be suspicions over his career due to drugs.

And I Ave no idea what color hourihane has got to do with anything unless you are hunting that he has missed a mandatory drugs test?

Aye, the one who made an post and missed a drugs test and only admitted that he had missed it after being outed in the media. Yep he's the one I'd bet my mortgage on being clean.

One missed test in 12 years is pretty slim pickings to not trust someone.

Missed drug tests are unfortunately pretty common.

There's articles about how often they happen online. Incredibly harsh to not trust someone based on one missed test out of probably not far off a thousand tests during that time.

It is a problem of his own making though is it not? He put his bank account and desire to raise his public profile ahead of his duties to his profession which resulted in him missing a drugs test. A missed drugs test which he only admitted to AFTER being outed in the media.

I didn't say I don't trust him, I don't know the bloke at all but for me at least there will always be suspicions due to that missed test and they are suspicions caused by himself and nobody else

"Wow" I thought to myself, "50 posts about one of Britain's greatest ever sportsmen, I'll look forward to reading that".

    Wish I hadn't bothered now.

I went cycling yesterday might have had residual doping issues from Saturday night. Didn't make me go quicker and thought at one stage I might have a heart attack.

    Am I doing it wrong?

Just a bit of further info re SuperTykes persistent references to Cavs missed test....in 2011...which is not a doping offence...has to miss 3 in an 18 month period for that to be the case.

"I missed an out of competition test last April," confirmed Cavendish last night. "It was my mistake. I was with a film crew for the BBC and Giro d'Italia on Mount Etna. It was a simple, genuine administrative error.

"Of course I totally understand the importance of testing in sport. I was tested by the UCI a couple of weeks before that and twice in the fortnight after, and had around 60 tests in all last year. It's part of the job and it's my job to make sure I don't miss another."

Cavendish, who has been a strong campaigner for the need of frequent out of competition testing no matter how inconvenient to the 'athlete, has recently added the vastly experienced GB Olympian Rob Hayles to his back-up team to help oversee the logistics of what will be an incredibly busy and challenging year.

Double checking that Cavendish's whereabouts is updated daily, and sometimes twice a day with WADA and UCI will be among Hayles tasks and with Cavendish and his partner Peta Todd expecting their first child sometime April, that could become extremely relevant if he suddenly has to leave a race or training camp midway through. The minimum requirement is for the testers to know his whereabouts for one nominated hour between 6am and 11pm each day.

Meanwhile Dave Brailsford - both the Team Principal at Sky and the Performance Director at GB cycling - is totally supportive of his rider: "There is absolutely no doubt about Mark's integrity," insisted Brailsford. "I am totally satisfied that he made a genuine mistake. He is tested regularly and is a powerful advocate for testing and ensuring that sport is clean."

Great victory yesterday and now level on stage wins with Bernard Hinaut.

I don't know how any can but love the bloke - he's a winner with an attitude, guts and passion that can only be admired.
