Have a look what 51.9% to 48.1% means in an in out referendum. It is democracy in action and everybody got 1 vote if they chose to use it and only 34-35% of the electorate felt strongly enough to vote to remain so we have to move on. I keep hearing about the lies told and no doubt both sides embellished the truth so lets not pretend either one didn't for the sake of continuing the argument.

 

But don't you think it's wrong that somebody can spend public money campaigning only for them to admit they lied straight after the results and there is no sanction or prosecution against them?

 

So who was honest, where was the emergency budget we were told would happen within days of an out vote, it is politics a dirty art fought by mostly dishonest people but we have to cut through what they say and make our own decisions. I think some will have voted leave through xenophobia some stay out of fear of the continued threats of impending doom but whatever happened it was 1 person 1 vote possibly the purest election we have had or will have in our lifetimes.

if you go down that route though surely you would be continually running general elections and never getting a result

 

I don't want to piss on your parade but what Farage said about Turkeys voting for Christmas was about UKIP voters and in that respect he is absolutely right but it is not meant as an insult.

I really don't want to get into a debate with you because I don't think it's possible but surely even you can see that the phrase he used was not, in any way, an insult. Quite the opposite actually.

 

No he hasn't, not to either point.

 

The 350 million was a lie he admitted the mistake

Today he has ukip supports turkeys

 

I know he obviously didn't mean it as an insult hes just so thick that he used a phrase that is only negative

 

Hrs shown contempt for both his supporters and the electorate in general

I'm not saying they were the only ones lying,i just think it's a disgrace that any of them are allowed to lie and yet those lies form the basis for the most important decision this country has made in living memory. Even if it stands there should be immediate laws passed to stop it happening again

 

It's not negative in the context he used it though, and it illustrates his point perfectly.

 

Then so be it. Although I suspect that the threat of 10 years inside would be enough to stop a lot of the lies in the first place
