Bournemouth wanting him, I've seen bids of 6 million and according to Sky Sports it's 10 million. I know he's young and English but these prices are ridiculous!
inevitable i'm afraid. the obscene sky deal means these figures are literally no object to premier league clubs. as predicted, no attempt to subsidise the ticket prices. it's just going straight into player and agents pockets
Well in fairness away ticket prices have been capped to £30 and clubs like West Ham, Swansea and Sunderland amongst others now have very reasonable ticket prices
Sky deal has killed the lower leagues. Clubs like Palace are now spending huge amounts, 30 million quid for Benteke?? Weren't Palace in financial turmoil just a couple of years back?
I know this won't be a popular view, but I disagree First of all Palace have the money because they've earned the right to be in the PL The vast amounts of money filter down the leagues anyway. Lewis Cook going to Bournemouth for £6 million from Leeds; Leeds buy Roofe from Oxford for £3 million (although Oxford only get 60% of that); Oxford buy... Say someone bought Mawson for £4 million for the sake of argument. We'd have a lot more money than we've had recently, so we would probably buy someone from the lower leagues, and so on So really the lower leagues have more money now when clubs in higher leagues buy their players for big money. It's not like the top leagues in Europe as separated from all other leagues
Are good point well made, I still do not think the whole sky TV deal is far though. I've just read that palace got 73 million for staying up and 32 million from the sky deal! Surely that can't be right? Can it?
Troy Deeney - £20m Matt Ritchie - £12m Dwight Gale - £10m Calum Wilson and Matt Ritchie - £25m All bids from this summer. To me shows two things. Firstly that the amount of money the PL clubs have these days is absurd and completely taking the game away from where it should be and that the quality of football in general is at a very low end right now. Go back 10 years and there were absolute legends of the game playing and at their peaks too, Zidane, both Ronaldos, Ronaldinho, Gerrard, Lampard, Henry, Raul etc, now theres not much beyond Messi and Ronaldo.
