Talented I'm sure, but proper not my cup of tea. blink-182 have just knocked her off the top of the UK album chart. Rock on. I love 2016.
Correct: the video of her singing Rid Of Me in Sydney is extraordinary. PJ and Duncan clearly a close second.
Absolute genius. Here's Glastonbury 1995, pink catsuit. Long snake moan was outstanding http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bhPGukKb6lk
They are in town in the next day or two. Small venue as well. Bit of a treat for those that can get in.
To keep it on topic (blink), here's a video at the same gig as the PJ video.
Always the best gigs when it's close and personal. They did this the other night. Second half of this is the best I've heard the song live. I loved Tom, but Skiba can actually sing live. And Travis is the best drummer on the planet.
Went drinking with Polly once just before she was famous when she was touring with the Family Cat. Great times ( what I remember of them). Let England Shake is a work of pure genius. Adele on the other hand is mediocre *****. Though she has a good voice in all fairness
Were you at Primavera by any chance Marc? That's where I saw her for the first time having not paid her much attention, but it really was mind blowing. Great festival.
Lucky man, wish I'd have been more which I should have since my sister's lived in Barcelona since '97!! Definitely. A perfect atmosphere. Mature, friendly folk enjoying it the right way rather than a bunch of 16 year olds sampling their first pint like festivals are in the UK. And Richard Hawley's set has gone down as one of my favourite ever!
Yeah it was Brian Wilson/Beach Boys time so I can understand if you missed it for that! Suede, Tame Impala, Dungen, Goat, White Fence, Radiohead, Last Shadow Puppets, Deerhunter, Black Lips, Ty Segall... is about all I remember. What about yourself?
nice. beak, air, eits, john carpenter, richard dawson, radiohead, pj, lcd, avalanches, boredoms, brian wilson, sigur ros. caught a bit of deerhunter, savages, ty segall. other bits & bobs. got green man and end of the road still to come though, so shed loads more..
****. I would have killed to do that back in the early 90s. Actually, I still would. I had a life size poster of her on my wall. Her knickers round her ankles. She's won a hell of a lot of awards and accolades in her later career, but I don't think she's bettered Rid of Me and 4 track demos from 1993. The sound of female angst delivered through a screaming electric guitar. Brilliant.
