In all area's still... I know there's still 7 weeks left of the transfer window but, starting at the back...

Goalie... Does anyone rate Townsend..? proper challenge needed for Davies.

Defence... CB concerns me a bit, we seem weak. Mawson seems fine. Glad Cowgill got a look yesterday.. Nyatanga future dosent look good in a red shirt. Roberts, did great second half of last season.. but championship defender?, we'll see. I keep remembering when he was just brushed aside that allowed Beevers to score at Wembley.. And next season he'll be up against some savvy strikers... Kevin Long type needed I feel..

Mid-field... Centre mid worries me. If we are going with a 2... they need to be all singing and dancing... Not just attacking...
When we are on the back foot, under the cosh. We need men who can dig in. With Connor and Moncur we seem fine going forward, but I'd like another Scowen type who likes to get a foot in

forwards... If SWW misfires or is not fit, who scores the goals? Payne has a very good record and so does Tutton, but at non-league level..
Marley and Elliot Lee, GS record is poor, even tho they may contribute in others area... Strikers need to score...
I'd like to see another proven striker come in..... but they cost money.

Wide players... this is of course our strength.. a abundance of talent... Hammell, Watkins, Lee, Yiadom Jackson even Scowen

I feel that even with another 4 signings that has been reported we're still very light.

This year once the window shuts it is shut. There will be no signings until January.

We've relied massively on loan signings in November to get us out of the **** in at least the last 10 seasons. Last year being the biggest example of all.

If any clubs recruits poorly this summer or gets bad luck with injuries and it affects their form it almost writes them off for the season. Not completely mind given what we did last year.

I do worry though as our squad is very much unproven at this level and once the window shuts they'll be no Kevin Long type signing to come and steady the ship until January.

Lets hope we hit the ground running.

Funny, I said pretty much the same thing last week and was criticised for moaning.

Personally I think we need at least 4 players

Another centre back even if Nyatanga stays
Another full back (ideally one that can play both sides)
    A central midfielder
    At least 1 striker

Then we may be able to supplement these with loan players before the window shuts
Let's not forget though that while loanees aren't allowed outside the window, we can still sign out of contract players I believe, if we need any extras later in the season

I'd say we need a minimum of 4 players plus 3 season long loans or another combination but basically 7 players. Hopefully we can get it right but we are cutting it fine.

I agree that we need another centre back (mainly because I don't really trust our reserve CBs) however I don't agree regarding Roberts. To pick that one goal out considering how he finished the season is a bit harsh I think.

I'd say we need at least:

Centre back, full back, defensive midfielder and a striker or two (depending on where Marley will play)

I kinda agree.. but last seasons heroics mean nowt come Aug 6.. I truly hope Robbo's holds his own at the very least...

But I was alarmed at how easy he was given the... out of my way little lad... treatment, by a player not even rated by some on here.

He'll come up against better than Mark Beevers next season....

Another decent CB is a must, if only to put pressure on the 2 that start..

Yeah that is fair enough. I'd hope Roberts can make the step up but if he does struggle I certainly wouldn't want Cowgill or Nyatanga coming in (no offence to those two) would Long want to come in here knowing he's not likely to be first choice initially? I'm not sure

    He's still resting.

I wish I got paid money like that to "rest".

I'm reasonably happy with the first eleven, but there isn't much competition for places. The remainder of the squad are either young players who may or may not be good enough and a few punts we've taken on non-league players.

Maybe we jumped the gun a bit getting these signings in so early as did we really expect to be promoted when these lads were brought in? I don't think we did.

Be nice to get Long back, or at least someone who has a little bit of Championship experience.

Going forward you'd expect CH, Moncur and Winnall to all get into double figures, Lee's record doesn't seem great at a lower level so no idea how he'll adjust to the Championship. From the clips I've seen on Player though his attitude seems spot on so he's obviously going to be working hard to get better.

Ryan Williams is sounding like something of a lost cause unfortunately and we do need a good winger to keep people like Hammill on their toes.
