If you mean that some of us resent the totally unnecessary redundancy processes that will inevitably follow in the wake of Sterling's devaluation then, yes, I'm bitter.
tbf against the euro sterling is within it's normal trading range - only in the last couple of years had sterling risen to such an extent that the recent drop 'looks' steep. It was almost at parity 2011 ish.
Too jeffing right we are bitter. The Euro/Dollar/Sterling stuff is nothing, it will come and go for a bit, but that's because nothing has happened yet. You wait until the reality of what we will have to suffer comes. All those experts whose advice the Leavers decided to ignore are right. The **** will happen. Let's hope it isn't your jobs, your kids and your pension that suffer because suffer we will.
Well, I'm in a reasonably strong position to know that there will certainly be redundancies as a direct consequence of the £/$ rate. But then again, what does that matter now we've 'got our country back' FFS.
Yup, did you see how we just elected a new Prime Minister. Bloody brilliant isn't it. Showed that undemocratic EU how to elect a leader. FFS!
Under May (assuming no election is called) we'll get a 'soft' Brexit - ie an agreement based on the EEA model giving us single market access. That will cause howls of protest from nutjacks who genuinely want to leave Europe and have nothing to do with it (and probably from some remainers who haven't grasped that there wasn't a 'Leave' political party) - we voted to leave the political union that is the EU - it is up to the British Govt to negotiate that process responsibly. Proof Is in the pudding I agree though.
Its starting to happen already - for example in research project where Britain is being excluded from multi country projects I have a friend who is a professor and well regarded in his field who is depressed at what has already happened since the vote - now British Universities and research institutes are being sidelined already. Short term bad for jobs in research long term bad for the country as we get left behind and we no longer get the better people coming here (still we dont want any of that nasty foreign money or talent here do we) I guess Y Goch can explain the details and effects much better than me though
Yes but that's all irrelevant because we've taken back control. No longer will we be dictated to by unaccountable officials on such critical things as the size of a bunch of bananas. Oh...wait a minute...we never were. FFS!!!
I'm just glad that as a result of leaving we have regained democracy and wont have to face the horror of an unelected leader foisted on us by an unelected committee (1922 anyone). Thanks for restoring democracy.
I find the fact that most Brexit campaigners didn't think.ghey'd win and didn't have a real exit strategy quite irritating and the ones who stirred the pot have walked away and left others to pick up the pieces - nice
No mate, I was being ironic. I was trying to highlight the fact that "taking back control" is just empty words. However, I have heard one person seriously banging on about not being dictated to about the size of bunches of bananas. Apart from Boris that is.
I find that some brexit voters had no clue what they were actually voting to leave. They got their country back though.
I've been told that there will be no further funding for the project I've been building up over the past 5 years. So unless I find some other funding, I'll be out of a job at the end of March. Other similar projects will also be dropped, with no services to replace them. But at least immigration is sorted, and we've got our country back.
