How's things, pal? Not been on your board since I dared to suggest you might not do much this season. I see Reubs has re-signed. Maybe a Hogan/Done thing, if you get my drift?

I'd take a more defensive minded midfielder for when the situation demands it but the stated philosophy of the club is to play a pressing 4-4-2 wherever possible.
I notice you've slid Sam out of the team. Does he get a spot on the bench?

We've been here before, mate. Leicester played two in midfield. Two up top. Two wingers. Four at the back. You can find me heat maps, player maps or big baps.. I will still see them as a 4-4-2 side. As were Burnley, ourselves and Wigan for much of last season. You're only disagreeing with this because you've always been a huge fan of the continental, German brand of football, the five in midfield etc. Which can be effective. Keith had that formula perfected with the lads you've referred to ^^^ there. But it was God awful to watch when we lost a couple of the components that made it work.

As for your worrying about the first three fixtures, I say let them worry about us. I'm not going to any games this season if we're reverting to the nonsense football of one up top, packing our own defensive third and hoping not to lose. **** that. If last season wasn't a clue then I give up, honestly. Let's go at teams and if we lose, we lose. We'll lose regardless if we sit in against the likes of Derby, trust me. You beat sides like that by beating them, all over the park.

However, all that said, I trust Hecky knows a lot more than me or thee on it.

Oh, and I like how you've missed Winnall out of the above^^^^ side you named. You little tease.

I don't understand why you're handing our formation.

    We play 4-4-2.

    be interesting what they do.

Jack Cowgill could be a nice centre back but I don't know if they see him a first 22 players or not. IF Nyatanga leaves think it might be a position they could get a loan player in.

Would love them to get a player that I mentioned last week or so.

You've accidentally forgot to mention our top goalscorer there mate, 3rd best in the league last year. Not to mention all those assists he got compared to them around him.

If PH see that I predict 0 points from the first 3 games and massive pressure on him. Go out in Capital one and it could break him.

Especially if you leave out our best goalscorer, we're asking to lose!

last years gone, this years coming and everything.

Keep living on the past and the club will never improve and be back their in 12 months time.

Listening to the coaching staff on Saturday and they weren't happy with the forward line. They kept trying to stress the team use pace options.

I really don't want to see us cowering in a foxhole all season, packing defence and trying to sneak the odd win. I LOVED how we played second half of last season. At half time at Wigan we were 2-1 up and needing to win and I was thinking...god, we've got to try and hold that for 45 minutes. Instead we came out second half and went for their throats. Never took a step back til they'd given up at 4-1. That's the way I want to see us play this season. Like we feel we can compete. If it doesn't work fair enough. But I'd rather that than hide in a corner in games.

So instead of using our best striker from League one last season, you'd put Payne there who's jumped from the conference? You're simply daft

Sincerely hope not. Some of the worst football I've ever seen at Oakwell was played with so-called defensive midfielders, like that ludicrous "handbrake" player we got (Greening). It was garbage. As soon as we started attacking we started to win. Midfielders should be able to do both - that's why they play in midfield and not at the back and not up front. Nowt wrong with the 3 we've got, with the addition of an Isgrove clone on the right.

Bradshaw for me would be the one with Payne and Winnall on the bench. Payne (if you've not been to stalybridge or guiseley) will offer something different. Looks a strong guy.

I'm hoping and that's all it can be that Brashaw and Moncur can be our Bradshaw and Sawyer. By the looks of the things i've seen he will look to run in behind. leaving gaps for the attacking midfielders to do what they do best. People that say he's no different to Winnall need to watch winnall in full sprint. He was slow in the short 10 meter sprints at Stalybridge I can tell you. And like Ferdinand says, pace scares defenders, even the every best of which he was.

I'm not getting into an argument with you (or anyone else) about it, but I'm not going to apologise if we get relegated. I doubt that it would be my fault.

Why would we want moncur and bradshaw to be bradshaw and sawyers? Why wouldnt we want them to be Hourihane and winnall (you know, the ones who got promotion and outclassed Walsall)

I know you're one for listening to the coaches and trying to second guess what they might be thinking.

In his most recent interview PH has stated Bradshaw has signed because we want to play 2 upfront.

I saw every team in Div 1 last year and Walsall four times. Winnall and Watkins were the best front pair I saw by far - we averaged nearly three goals a game when these two were together - and Winnall was the best all round forward in terms of goals and assists, not to mention his talismanic value to the team.

Winnall and Watkins start for me and I'm equally delighted that we now have quality cover in Bradshaw and an emerging talent in Payne.

Winnall isn't electric, we all know that. But he's no slouch and he's a fantastic goalscorer. We accept you replaced Bobby with Sam in your affections, summat about fan favourites that you don't like, which is fair enough. It's ******* weird like, but fair enough. But I've seen Bradshaw a few times and he's no quicker. He certainly isn't 'pacey' as you've just described him on twitter. I was at Guiseley, so you can't con me with that one either. Winnall looked sharp and in good nick.

And Rio Ferdinand has strange lips.

"we want to be playing two up front this season" - said Hecky, half an hour ago, club website.
