For what's it worth, I have read your posts in the past and have believed that you are "in the know" so to speak. So to be honest I have been watching this post with interest today as I (like everyone else) am very keen to see Isgrove come back. So I think you have been hard done by on this post but maybe to earn some more credibility you could tell us a little more details as to why you think he will sign.

But why don't you say how you know it? Is it going to kill you to do that? And that's because they are credible journalists who's job it is to report on these things. If they, as local sports journalists say that sources at the club have told them something then more often than not a credible source has told them that and people can take it on face value. No offence or it but you're just a random bloke who makes big claims about insider knowledge without giving any clue whatsoever how you come by this information. Surely you must understand why people are doubtful and ask you for some kind of source to your claims?

Take today for example. Surely it isn't too much to ask for you to say whether you've heard something that makes you think he's signing or whether it's just a gut feeling you have. As a Barnsley fan don't you understand why people would want more information?

I've been told today it will be a late deal but he will sign. Not on loan either.

There's a worry over his lack of goals. Initially we dropped interest because of that. But he was the one that made us tick. The growing reputation of the Welsh national team and that Lloyd could be part of that with regular games has also sparked interest.

Until Gum121 says it's so, everything is just opinion and speculation of varying degrees of credibility. This one being almost as low as my own. :D

    That's fine.

Why did no one tell me I was lying regarding Otis Khan ect though?

The theory behind that makes sense. There is simply no way that after experiencing what he did with us that hw could go back to playing for Southampton reserves. So if there is a deal to be done then why shouldn't be at the front of the queue. Regular games in the Championship will definitely get him in the Wales squad too and hopefully Bradshaw.

    Exciting times ...

I've no reason to disbelieve you, Chris. You've been on the money a few times previously.

About a month ago now, a week or so before Hammill re-signed I was told by a lad I only know through using twitter that Hammill was signing with us, turning down Bristol and Wednesday. I was very, very sceptical. But I shared as much: http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showth...istol-fans-last-night/page2&highlight=hammill

Same lad said he expected Fletcher and Isgrove to re-sign on loan by the end of the window.

I was then speaking to numerous folk at Guiseley and was told that Isgrove wanted to re-sign here.

Thing is with sharing anything like this, you will get things wrong. Because **** changes. Shitty nappies definitely. Regular changes. What a Friday night I've had but I digress. And on the same night, Hecky told me we weren't in for Bradshaw and gave me the impression he'd never even heard of Jinty Caenapeel.

One thing for certain though, it's exciting right now isn't it? Which makes me nervous.

I reckon Isgrove would be a huge signing, on loan or otherwise. Fletcher and we're taking the piss.

It's statements like that which makes me understand why people seem to have a go at you mate. Like many have stated (including yourself) you have been right on many occasions, but its this superior attitude which probably gets on peoples nerves a bit. I hope you're right and I'm sure you're not just spouting rubbish for the sake of it but perhaps stop being so condescending to folk and you'll receive a lot less aggro.

But I'm never going to name who I get information off. It just isn't right.

I don't know who Gum is but no one asks him how he knows anything and he doesn't tell anyone.

He just gets his information and shares it. Much more frequently than I do.

Before Hammill signed I posted on here a few reasons why the club may choose not to sign him.

I have a full conversation log of it.

People called ******** on that aswell and I got some stick.

    But it was genuine.

The powers that be obviously changed their mind.

It happens. It doesn't mean anyone's lying though or hasn't been told this from a credible source.

Fair enough mate, you have a point. I just think it's maybe the "know it all" attitude which perhaps make people a bit annoyed. And also, as a relatively new member to the board, I was unsure over whether you have inside knowledge or not, which obviously makes it a bit frustrating when someone states something and doesn't give a source.

    I don't have inside knowledge.

You'd have to be inside to have that.

But if you speak to the right people you can occasionally get the odd bit of info.

Well I always believe that forums such as these need rumours and ITK postings.

I reckon anything goes on here within reason, but I'd love everyone to be less antagonistic with each other. I'd prefer everyone to be more respectful of others, have a little think on at times. But I'm from the looney left and like making others feel good/happy/awkward. :)

Been told exactly the same - concern over a lack of end product.

I agree to a point, but he was such a key part of our success last season, albeit without the number of goals/assists you would hope for from an attacking player

How much do we reckon if indeed it's a goer?

    500k again?

Semantics aside, perhaps be a bit more pleasant to folk in future.

    It's all about negotiation.
If Stones is sold & clubs & players know we have 7-8 million, the bigger ones will be able to hold out for more cash.
I could see Lloyd back on loan, but suspect we will continue with signings from the lower divisions, although maybe we may sign Long or another experienced CH at Championship level?

    I really don't think I'm unpleasant.

The stick I get is far worse than any I've ever dished out.

I think people seem to dislike me because of my opinion of George Smith and that I thought Danny Wilson was woeful and deservedly sacked second time around.

Other than that I don't see what else could have ruffled anyone's feathers.

I would say that's a maximum. I don't think the club want to pay a big fee for Lloyd as they are unsure on his end product.

His contract is up at the end of the season but is have thought Southampton would let him go for the sake of his career.

Again, fair point. I think unpleasant was the wrong term to use. Just think maybe be a bit less dismissive of other folks opinions and more accepting of other people's criticism. If someone asks who the source is and you reply "I'm the source", I think it's fair for people to have a go.
