This Belgium lad who everyone was getting excited about has dropped off radar?

Anyone know owt? Heckys interview seemed to be a bit odd. As if he has no idea what the craic is.

Wonder if other clubs have come a sniffing. Perhaps ones managed by short statuted men with the spine of a jellyfish?

We haven't bid for him. We asked his club if he could come over for medical tests which he has, and passed. Lots of interest from around Europe - get the impression it's a long shot.

Not agreed a fee yet, may take a couple of weeks I reckon.
Competition from Russia by the sounds of it.

The only competition I know of coming from Russia is from the same side who didn't wanna pay the fee FC Eindhoven were asking for.

If we really want the lad, we'd sign him as you don't really hear many players coming over to a different country for a 'medical', but think something else has happened with a first choice target i.e Isgrove for us to potentially move on.

But as Hecky said we always want to look for players to improve.

And I know I know you tube is not the place to judge a player but this lad really does look the part. Young, gifted and if he's over the injuries then surely a risk worth taking for a couple of hundred grand. Suppose it's Jennings Syndrome, but this lad looks the ********!

You could be right, we might be keeping something up our sleeve.

Personally I think that the lad really wants the move so was keen to come across. In terms if development surely England makes much more sense than Russia.
Made sense to ask FC Eindhoven if they would allow it and if we could give him a medical etc.

We will still want him imo but maybe biding our time as the it's likely the Russians may outbid us if it goes that way.

But would he rather go with a player he knows in detail like Isgrove or a player that, in all fairness is a chance?

I reckon our squad has room for both, if we're minded to spend the cash on them. That'd probably do us for forward players though.

Jinty is only 19 and we know his qualities. Would be a good investment. Surely the only chance of Isgrove back is on loan realistically?

If we've just found out there's a possibility of getting Isgrove back on loan I don't think it affects the Jinty deal. The only deal it might affect is the Ryan Kent one.

I don't think we've got room for them both. A lot of people seem to be forgetting we have brought in Elliot Lee as well so can't see us bringing them both in unless Jinty is used as a striker and that's it. Really can't see us forking out another half a mill for a striker though when Stefan Payne is scoring for fun and Marley Watkins is back fit. Kayden Jackson and Shaun Tuton are also first team forwards so don't see anybody coming in unless they're another position.

Hecky will have no involvement in what's going on behind the scenes, regarding fees, contracts etc. They should interview Linton for those answers. I wouldn't just assume it's off because Hecky has nothing to say on the subject.

The Russian bid is from FK Ufa. Even if they are willing to pay, I genuinely don't think many players would choose the wilds of Russia over the Championship. The standard here is very poor. Zenit or CSKA might be an attractive option due to the high salaries and the fact that Moscow and St Petersburg are very decent cities to live in. But Ufa? It would be like choosing Inverness, but ten times more isolated.

Elliot Lee is a striker or left sided winger.
Jinty is for the right wing. We currently only have Jackson and Watkins as right wingers (if you discount RWilliams and Yiadom who can play there) and IMO Watkins will start as a striker. We're in desperate need of a right winger and maybe 1 more for cover, hence why we've been in for Jinty and Ryan Kent.

I agree, but if they offer more than we do surely all you've just said means bugger all.

I agree but it'll be either Isgrove or Jinty, not both.

I didn't really make myself clear mate - Zenit pay stratospheric wages, ones with which we couldn't possibly compete. Ufa on the other hand, are not backed by a wealthy sponsor as far as I'm aware, so even if they did outbid us on wages, the difference probably wouldn't be huge. Hopefully the massive difference in football and living standards between Yorkshire and Bashkiria should compensate for that. If we lost out to Celtic for a player - I'd understand that. If we lost out to Motherwell, or even.someone like Aberdeen, I'd be both miffed and surprised. I think it's a reasonable comparison.

    Yeah I get you.
Hopefully he'll hold out for us now he's been round the place. It's up to his club wether he'll join us though at the end of the day.

Why not take both. Jinty can also play as a striker. No guarantees that Fletcher will come back on loan. Sign Jinty n use loans for other areas

Why not both? Lloyd was usually taken off after 60-65 mins in the games he started, seems to me that this Jinty fella would be perfect to bring on as a replacement.
