Got to agree the only thing to glean from this debacle is Finn will be replaced by Anderson and Ballance will make way for Stokes Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
And I've to put up with the Pakistani lads taking the piss at work tomorrow. I think they were better than us in truth.
Spot on Andy they were better. We could have played a leg spinner too, but chose to play Ali, who offers nothing.
really good test match and well done to the Pakistan team. They bowled well but not sure what they are doing at Lords. Do they not listen to the ECB. Yet another wicket which suits the opposition more than England, doesn't happen to England away from home. Anyway with OT and Eddbaston to come they have to keep their heads up. Edgbaston Expect Stokes and Anderson in sharpish with Ball and Finn to depart. They need to get Rashid in. That could cause them problems. Does he come in for a batter or Alli? Both got pro's and cons. If it's for a bats man they need to get it into Alli's head that he's still got to bat properly at 7 or 8. Something which Stokes struggled with apparently before they moved him up the order. Also Do they play Ballance and Vince if they Don't leave one out for Rashid? Borthwick in? or a return for Ian Bell? Lot's of decisions for the Selectors in the next couple of days. Still see England winning the series if they get the chance to with weather. Think Pakistan are what they are. Beatable but a good team. Think England could and will improve away from Lords. Only loss came to Aussies didn't it their too.
Personally I'd say Vince and Ballance have to be given another chance Interesting about Ali, but with the bat he scored 150 against Sri Lanka a few games ago, so isn't exactly out of nick, but with the ball is where he has struggled. But Pakistan are very good players of spin. Would Rashid be more effective? Interesting one I think Anderson will definitely be in for Ball, which is an obvious move. Stokes in for Finn, as Woakes is undroppable at the moment. It would also make our batting even stronger I don't think it's fair to say it's embarrassing. They bowled better than us. It's the first test match which wasn't a dead rubber that we have lost since Lord's v Australia last year, so we're not exactly out of form
Lords games was second test 2015. See I think they've had a problem in the team. It's been Bayliss Aussie views vs the English crickets Views. He think you top load your team now and hes got Root to do it after asking for 12 month. For me England would have been better today with root at 4 and Vince at Root but that also goes with how the team plan was. They were that worried about Reverse swing and Spin that they losts the fact that they should just play it normally. They went at 5 an over for quite a few overs. In the end it didn't really do that much after the 40th over
Watch both his shots he got out with. He was cruising both innings and threw it away. Because he's from Yorkshire, doesn't mean he's above blame.
Disagree and he would too. Both shot's he would play again. Not sure if you heard him talk about the first innings shot but he just said he didn't time it right. Bayliss wasn't too bothered with it either. First one of those things. Second innings he tried to hit it down and the bat moved in Joe's hand. If you don't play shot's then you'll not score any runs.
Good job Broad can bat because he's not been an all rounder for years. Of our batters only Cook got out to a good ball. Ballance should have known better than to try and play an identical shot the ball after hitting a four. Ali should be disgusted with his dismissal. We had to go at less than two runs an over, over two days and instead played it like an ODI.
