lights touchpaper and gets popcorn ... mind simmer myself down the article doesnt actually state how much the tickets are !!
STILL no announcement! Seeing the FIVE categories says to me that the "bigger games" are going to be quite frankly, astronomical. I'd guess the CAT D will be £25 CAT C £27 CAT B £29 CAT A £32 and CAT A* £35. I hope I'm wrong but I just fear the worst here for those paying on a game by game basis.
I think they've seen what Weds are charging Derby, and thought we need to do same. Agree it's going to be high.
Basically we are happy to rip off both our fans and other teams and can't be arsed to look at ideas like Flexi tickets or other innovative ticketing initiatives to at least not RIP our own fans off. Same **** different day.
The frustrating thing is that Patrick crane has regularly commented how he was poor growing up and that going to oak well was like an escape for him and really important.
£21 if you wear a blue hat, green shirt, talk in an Irish accent and approach the box office on a unicycle £24 if you are wearing red socks whilst riding a scooter and singing the grand old duke of York but only if you approach from the west £25.43 if your name begins with L or V and you are between 5'6" and 5'7" with a tattoo of Patrick crane under your left elbow. Why the chuff are we making it so complicated to buy tickets? Just set a ******* price and leave it at that. Oh and having one price for the entire stadium is wrong wrong wrong. If prices re the same for each seat then why are pointy end season ticket holders getting much bigger discount than east upper ticket holders? You can't claim they're equal for pay on the day but different for season tickets. BFC: so out of touch it's unbelievable
sorry, seems reasonable to me... I'll probably do about 12 home games & 8 away due to work. Expect to pay more for Villa than Burton
I don't understand why clubs are allowed to charge different prices for different teams. A championship game of football is a championship game of football and should be equal, surely? One set price for all adults, one set price for concessions etc. (Ideally all clubs should charge the same as each other but if not then the club should pick a price and have to charge every set of fans that visits them the same, not one price for one and one for another).
Surely if the match day prices were going to be bad news, they would announce them sooner rather than later, to try and encourage more people down the season ticket route.
What they haven't told you ... yet ... is that for Cat A etc games season ticket holders will be expected to stump up an extra fiver on the gate or they won't get in. My "concession" senior ticket at the moment means I'm only paying the equivalent of £8.26 per game. Some poor sods are going to have to suffer as a result. What I find interesting is that they are going to announce the categories on a two monthly basis. So if poor old Burton are top in Oct/Nov then they'll be Cat A*. If Newcastle are bottom then they'll be Cat F. I thought BFC had done away with categorisation.
We release a pricing structure article that mentions no prices....Don't see why they couldn't mention the prices for each catergory so people who aren't getting a season pass have an idea now how much of their disposable income will have to be saved to watch us. It was complicated enough for people to know the price of a game when it was thirty quid the other season. So lets make it even harder with five different catergories, two of which use the same letter. Easy for us lot on the internet but harder for the rest to keep up with match catergories and match prices. Be sad if the cost has an impact on how many of our fans can support the team in our biggest season for years. We aren't West London. Can't be that difficult to have a system in place where our fans can be charged less than the away fans so we don't have to rip off our own to fleece big away followings. Would be better to have a set price no matter who we play. We are Barnsley fans and go watch Barnsley. Can't speak for others but who the opposition is doesn't really matter to me because it's not them i'm going to watch.
That will be marvellous. I don't particularly agree with ripping away fans off either but if at least we can avoid pricing our own fans out of Oakwell it'll be a start.
