Not seen him play for us at all. Any good? Do we need cover for left back, or is he going to be adequate?
Does that matter? If he'll make those runs on the outisde i'm not sure it does when playing with Hammil or Lee. To the first thread maker. I think he's closer than people seem to think on here. He was really unlucky last season. Got injured in first pre season game and didn't really play after that.
I used to be a right footed left back. I could tackle and pass with my left though unlike a lot of modern players. I was ***** though
It's just strange to see a left back that's completely right footed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Azpilicueta has done it successfully for Chelsea throughout the last couple of years. Also, George Williams was right footed.
I know but they are right backs who can do a job at left back. Evans is an out and out left back but of who watch him he only uses his right foot. I'm not saying he's no good I'm just saying it's strange to watch him as he's always looking to put it on his right. Which makes you think why is he not just a right back first. Irwin was definitely a left back throughout the majority of his career. Would also argue Azpilicueta has achieved the most success at left back. Wouldn't class it as "doing a job". You're right it does seem odd that a right footed player would naturally migrate towards left back but it does happen.
No doubting Azpilicueta is more than comfortable at left back. But we're talking about multi title winning footballers here. Like I say I'm not knocking Evans. But when you watch him you wonder why he isn't a right back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Watched him at Stalybridge and Guiseley and he is comfortable using his left foot, despite being right footed.
