At least ten different friends and family members have provided me with a long list of excuses ranging from the reasonable (too far on awful roads) to the feeble (on holiday). Is anyone actually going, or will the misery of drinking Greene King ales be compounded by the fact that I'll be doing it alone?
2 with me, need to get booked on courthouse this week. Cant wait. You reds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm a man in a house full of women. Occasionally I need to have a holiday from them, climb a mountain and eat dumpling soup. What can I say? Kathmandu or Ipswich. It wasn't too difficult a choice. You'll be the one laughing as Adam Davies scores a last minute winner from his own area.
To be honest mate, I'd probably feel the same if this wasn't quite possibly going to be my only match until Christmas. As it is I'm biting the bullet. In any case, £32 quid in will be dwarfed by whatever the missus spends shopping while I'm at the match.
Whilst people continue to pay any stupid price, clubs will continue to rise prices knowing they can get away with it because people will still pay it. Until fans stand together and say enough is enough, nothing will be done about prices. Go on the official coach and that makes the trip just short of sixty quid without eating, drinking, buying a programme ect. A 5th of your season pass for the season after paid for just by missing one game you might have gone to.
Portman Road was one of my three to tick off as well (along with Villa Park and Craven Cottage) so it's a shame but I'm sticking to my guns. If I were in your situation I'd be going too though. Just as side point, do you know how much it costs to watch Zenit or CSKA?
When I used to go to Zenit it was from £4 to £15 a ticket. However, they pissed a lot of people off by charging £150 a whack for Bayern Munich in the UEFA semis a few years ago. I've not been for a while but I gather tickets start at £15 going up to around £30. Season tickets are around £150. However, Zenit are the most expensive club to watch in Russia as they've got a small stadium and a large fanbase, and therefore sell out every week I'm hoping once they move to their new stadium prices will come down a lot. As far as I know the Moscow teams are all dirt cheap, £5-£7, as they mostly play in large stadiums and never get remotely close to selling out. Russian football is by and large dire, with the lack of away fans for most games compounding things. Hockey on the other hand is absolutely brilliant here.
Me & 5 others (Balsham BFC supporters branch) ... closest game of the season for us (or maybe Naarwich) but anyway, we'll be there
Just had a look at the attendance figures. Staggering how low they are for clubs from such big cities. I'd never heard of Ufa before Frimpong went there - over 1m people! Average gate of 7,059.
I've travelled a lot round Russia but I'd still never heard of Saransk until they announced the World Cup venues. Apparently it's also a pretty big place.
