Exactly what I thought when I first saw him at Stalybridge. Reminds me a lot of Dale Jennings. Really hope he doesn't end up like him.
Must have been re-fuelling with a lot of carbs. It's abhorrent that professional footballers can be fat in this day and age.
FFS this ****'s back. He's not. He's just a bulky figure which will be through muscle. This allows him to do what he does. Got a very good shot and strong shot without much back lift. Strong in the turn. Their was a poster on here that posted Barkley was over weight whilst the Euro's were on. That was was from Ryhill and i'm amazed he made the comment. Ross Barkley's got a bulky figure like Elliott Lee and it's a good thing. He's had an injury so he was a little behind the others and you could see that. At Stalybridge he was the best player in the first half. Not to worry too much because I'm sure he'll catch up.
A young lad with potential. I'd say weight distribution might be a problem myself but like Jennings that's in his control. As long as the ability and desire is there he will be fine. Couldn't quite see why we signed him but I have a lot of faith in the spreadsheet and Hecky so I'm sure he will do fine.
Bull ****. But I'm sure he'll be really pleased to hear the wisdom of James. Someone that came out with the biggest nonsense on Radio i've ever heard. He's not a footballer, he's a league one footballer. Bravo.
Only half a game.. but looked very average to me. Not as good as Marley, hoped for a bit more than I saw. bench warmer so far. I wasn't impressed by many yesterday tho Hammill apart, We seem skilful but light weight, everywhere... Think we'll be bullied in this league
He should take note. Same as Dale Jennings should have taken note when everyone said he needed to lose weight. Remind me what he's up to now? Can't quite remember saying that to be honest, but I can remember (as can everyone else) when you said goal scoring is not an attribute. I'm sure SSW enjoys the "wisdom" of Philip.
Attributes are single. Composure, decision making, able to hit the ball where you want to. and many more. Goalscorer's would take some or all of them. So that's a skill. Something that after I but this T Henry talked about the day after on Sky Sports.
So for future reference and so everyone else on the board is clear about the rule, its ok for you to post negative comments about barnsley players but no one else is allowed ?
If they are young and have done nothing of any note for us and we have signed them from a Premiershit team then criticising them is illegal punishable by A death glare from Hemsworth. If they have contributed massively to our success by say scoring lots of goals or captaining us exceptionally but we signed them from someone less glamourous they are fair game. Keep up.
Our creativity weined in 2nd half when he and Bradshaw went of. Apart from back chatting ref Winnall had quiet game. Also surprised we didn't see Watkins come on
"scoring goals isn't a (sic) attribute" you said. And "clean sheets isn't a (sic) attribute". Also included Frimpong in your ALL TIME BEST XI. Criticised club legends/heroes incessantly. Suggested the likes of RNL, Clark and Digby would go to the very top. Spent a full season (after a year away from the BBS) denouncing the abilities of a lad we signed for a couple of hundred grand, who went on to be our 24 goal top scoring striker and two times Wembley winner. Went out of the way to suggest our centre half wasn't any good because he once played for Halifax. Immediately questioned the decision to appoint a club legend as head of academy recruitment. Forgive me for finding it difficult not to take your opinions with a pinch of salt, Phil.
Lee was the most ineffective player on the pitch. The only change that affected us was Hourihane's withdrawal. Winnall was far from quiet. He just had a bad day in front of goal. Bradshaw was quiet. Agree on Marley.
Anybody that says Barkley didn't put weight on last season, is either deluded or blind. You could have built a housing estate on his arse, it was that big.
