Think we might do okay under him.

Not a big name but he's talked about man management and pressure today. Think that's what needs to be worked on. Their isn't any need to start working on their games. Hopefully he might make the games about the players.

He will pick players to fit into a team and a style rather than who he "ought" to pick. I hope we will anyway. Therefore the end of forwards on the wing and shoehorning players who can't play anymore in as you daren't admit they can't play anymore.

Plus he might get shut of the awful hybrid version on tika taka

Be interesting what he does with Stonesy. Sam has made it clear over the years that he doesn't like ball-playing centre halves.

Might stop picking Rooney by default - he is still a reasonable player - but not up to the standard.

Play him up front, or not at all.

First thing Mourinho said when appointed at Old Trafford regards Rooney was that he'll be played up front or at worst behind the striker(s). No more of this deep, holding midfield nonsense.

    Sam will agree.

    another lamb to the slaughter

for when the English 'Prima Donnas' **** up yet again. If 'BIG SAM' can have a word with Coleman and get the gist of how to inject PRIDE & PASSION then he may do OK... but I just see another sacrificial goat offered to the Altar that is the FA.... FAILING ASSHOLES... good luck Sam but make sure your sword is sharp so as to make it quick when you have to fall on it.

That's the opposite of what needs to be done. He needs to make it about forming a coherent team with a system that the players fit, rather than adapting the system to fit all the "best" players.

Play a disciplined 442 with Carroll and Kane up front and see if we can't shithouse our way to a semi final or further.

We can have any manager in the world and we will still be the same old let down we have always been. We simply aren't good enough and haven't been for the last 14 years.

1000000% disagree. Think England have many excellently talented players. It's all mental and that was something SA spoke about today.

I've said it a lot but but people go in on these players at the very top level.

I see so many similarity's with the Rugby union and cricket teams. People only a 3 years ago blasting the team GB Tennis team. They got a coach to work on the mental side and they are taking on teams at the very top.

England certainly have good players all they need is passion and a system they can play to their strengths in.

None of the England team are good enough as individuals to get into the best teams in the world. We have as average a team as I can ever remember. Of course an individual like Bale or Ronaldo can drag up an average team into a winning one. Unfortunately we don't even have one world class player to build a team round. The problem isn't mental the problem is that we don't have players who are good enough. Sure we have competent players at club level but that's all that they are no more or less. The only world class British player is Bale.

But neither do Iceland or Russia. We couldn't beat them either.

Psychology definitely plays a part in our performance at tournaments.

However the overriding factor for our failure at Euro 2016 I believe was Roy Hodgson.

He was abysmal right from his squad selection. He was worse than abysmal when picking teams and tactics. There's no way that group of players weren't good enough to reach France in the quarters. That's if the right team was picked in the first place. It never was.
