Exactly right - and there lies the labour problem in a nutshell - the party is supposed to represent workers - but Corbyn only talks about the poor and those discriminated against - so that's where most of Corbyns support lies. But a PM has to appeal to a much wider range of people than just that.. And this is what the parliamentary Labour Party is fighting for
If you are a member (which given your political replies to other threads, I very seriously doubt ) you'll know membership isn't just about voting. PS You'll also be aware there are other rates for certain circumstances eg unwaged etc. No didn't think you did
I'm not leaving because I can't vote, it's a point of principle. Maybe I'll rejoin when they've sorted their **** out or split.
Jarvis and Dugher would stand no chance as Independents. Neither of them have the bottle to resign their seat and fight Labour in our Town. Both of them are on too a cushy number. Just ask who they employ and the salary they pay them.
More chance of a local candidate if selecting one with a Socialist set principles. Jarvis helicoptered in to a safe seat like loads before him in similar safe seats
Sorry nudge, can't agree. Jez is the best friend regular, modest workers have. I just wish Jarvis was in the team.
I'd be a member of the Labour Party if it wasn't going to cost me £47 per year. I reckon that puts a lot of people off.
If the electorate voted accordingly thus: < average wage = Labour > average wage not Labour Result = Labour majority
I would have thought that Jarvis will only be deselected if the local members request it. So do we know the mix of the membership re Corbyn v PLP type supporters? Remember, at least 98% of the electorate do not subscribe to any party and are there to be wooed. Listening to many old labour voting mates I get the impression they cocked up last time selecting Ed and they are doing it again with Corbyn and they are beginning to feel disenfranchised.
Brother was saying tonight he's wrote a letter urging Dan Jarvis to accept the mandate and support the winner of the leadership battle. Totally agree with him too
They've been representing them for the best part of four decades. 35% of eligible voters didn't vote at the last election.
Our labour council has to be one of the most wasteful in the country. Despicable people in a closed shop, I'm alright jack establishment. Vile
