Good to see for Rooney. 100% of the profits got to different charity's.

Wonder how many former players can say that.

Hopefully any that earn £200k a week. He would be an ever bigger **** than normal to keep that money. Most now use it as a charity event given the original intention of testimonials was to help professionals in retirement change career. Not such an issue with these overpaid bunch of losers.

I'd expect all of players now to give 100% to charity.

I'd be annoyed if I went to one and it wasn't.

Is it on BT Sport or Sky?

Back in the day when footballers earned a little more than the average income, they'd keep all the money raised at a testimonial. Absolutely no problem there, it's a reward for loyalty.

But nowadays it's common practice to use the event to raise money for their chosen charities. Because footballers wages are obscene.

I'm glad to see Stonesy is back fit and playing and it'll be interesting to see how he and Holgate get on against Wayne and Ibra. Wouldn't normally watch owt like this but the Barnsley connection is pulling me in and of course, Zlatan.

Holgate must be close to pushing for a start. He's played the most out of any of the youngsters from what i've seen in Everton's pre-season.

I'm definitely not. I'm just not indulging him.

These kinds of posts from him are exactly why I don't listen to people who say 'ph you should e nice to him, it's not his fault, if you met him you would understand' and make hints towards him having a mental disability which means he can say and do what he wants without reproach. Sorry but his wind ups and deliberate baiting attempts are quite sneaky and thought out. They are calculated and if he is capable of such calculating attacks and attempts to wind up then he is capable of getting it back in spades.

He genuinely is a good lad. But he says what he thinks. For example, last season we played Huddersfield, you'll remember it.... And at half time he came up to me and Roy spouting about how Jacob should have been sent off, a disgrace etc. Thing is, me and Roy had been down on the concourse ten minutes supping, so never saw the incident.

However, he didn't log on to the internet that night to bait me.

    Unlike some. Ahem.

I didn't log on to bait you either despite what you think. I posted a comment about an incident at a football match which pretty much everybody on here had attended. I did no different to what you have done several times regarding other players, the difference is that you happen to be related to one. That frankly isn't my problem and me mentioning it was 100% not to wind you up. I maintain my stance that the person who created a problem for you that day was the one on the pitch, not the the person who commented on it.

He didn't retreat at a corner, mate.

But we've done this discussion to death.

If he recovers from injury in time to be in contention a week on Saturday, and gets selected, I will go through the laws of the game with him beforehand.

Yes I know he didn't. He didn't retreat, he was deliberately being a pillock. I commented on it and said his behaviour was embarrassing and I'd be embarrassed by him if I was his family or friend and had to witness him acting like that (a comment I've made about other players in the past). Im sorry but I would have been and to be perfectly honest you would have been too had you been sat there watching, you would have been cringing in your seat. So what? It's true. It's hardly the biggest insult in the world to mention it is it? I've been embarrassed by the actions of family members and friends hundreds of times as I'm sure they have about me. Mentioning it on here was a general post just like we all, including you, have done many many times regarding other players.

The only reason it's been brought up again is that even now you seem certain it was an attempt to bait you. I'm not sure why you think that at all really, why you think that he deserved immunity for his actions simply because of your relationship to him. For me it is far more pathetic to ignore the deplorable actions of yet another footballer simply because f who he is than it is to mention it in the same way you would also have done had it been any of the other 21 players on the pitch.

This is rather dull so far.

HEY NOW! Be fair... £250k a week!

I saw it afterwards. He didn't retreat. There wasn't a reason for me, nor his family to be embarrassed. It's Jacob. We know him, obviously. He can be a moody, petulant get. So can I. I saw nothing new, pal. Nothing embarrassing, nothing shameful. He didn't retreat at a corner kick, got arsey about it when pulled up by the official and got a booking.

Had I been in my seat to see it, I can guarantee you I'd have either been laughing or saying to Roy or whoever "worra wally, gerrim off". Because that's me. And you don't know me to know how I would or should react.

If he plays against us on the 13th I can also guarantee you that I'll be hoping he's ***** and urging our lads to get at him. I'm a reds supporter. I can wish him well in every other match he plays.

So trust me on this, I was far from embarrassed, far from cringing that afternoon. I was though annoyed to read certain things on here in relation to said incident, mainly posted by yourself. Not because it didn't need mentioning, I don't police the forum. But because I felt your posts were posted with an agenda. You disputed that and still choose to dispute it. And that's that. I've slept since. Water under the bridge. Let it flow.

How's Stonesy and Holgate getting on? I've forgot it's on.... :D
