Just read a report that we don't meet Uefa regulations on facilities for wheelchairs - apparently only Rotherham meet the criteria.

Always thought we catered well for people with disabilites

I take my Dad (91) in a wheelchair and we park up on the platform in the Becketts (gangway 5). It works well for him although the entrance facilities are not ideal. We enter the ground by knocking on the exit gate and a steward lets us in. The alternative is a gate (32 or 33 I think) halfway down the West Stand. The entrance and journey back to the Becketts is difficult to say the least.
I understand there is a waiting list for the Disabled Stand but I don't know the details. Generally I think the facilities are adequate rather than excellent. I think a number of improvements could be made at relatively low cost.
I am not sure if there are any facilities in either the West or East stands.

Thanks for the response - wonder what Rotherham do that's different - maybe better equipped with it being a new ground

Is there a demand for more disabled space?

A Rotherham supporter with an autistic son comes to our college. She is part of a group of people who regularly meet with Rotherham Utd to discuss problems for disabled supporters.

I wonder if we do the same

Didn't we have the first purpose built disabled stand in a football ground some years ago before the new stands were built?

My dad has sight problems. We enquired about those audio headsets and there were none available. Apparently there's about 5 and they were all taken. Shocking really.

How about for away fans? That still counts as our ground and they don't have access to the disabled stand I think (just made that up to be honest, I have no idea).
