Is it just me that understood that as Mawson definitely wants to leave and will once a suitable bid has been made?
I interpreted it as any offer so far has been nowhere near enough, so it's not going to happen. Whether he wants to move back south, or be at a different club, so be it. But as long as he puts in the effort, does his best while here and we get true value for him, lets support him and make him feel wanted.
My interpretation is that everyone of them can go, if the 'right bids' come in. That's just where we are at moneywise these days. Just got to hope that the right bids don't come in for our key players and that any right bids are in the multi million pounds bracket
Very impressed with Conor's almost instant response to the interviewers questions. Infact towards the end he actually starts to answer before the questions up. We're in safe hands with such a forward thinking captain.

Don't think he dodged the question at all. He made it clear that it's constant speculation and Alfie has not let any rumours affect him. We all know that if a bid comes in for any player which meets our valuation then we may have to accept it. That's the model now - buy young/lower league players with potential for cheap; develop them further; either sell on for profit or let their contract run down; and then move on to the next target.
Agreed. I think the point is with Alfie is that he is a saleable asset. We know what he could be worth in 6 months time if he impresses in the championship - 3m plus, maybe more if you look at recent sales in the division. There are lots of clubs sniffing around him but one club has offered us a lot less than that - 750k if rumours are true. We are being offered league one prices. If we are offered 3m now we would probably accept it. That's our model. We have bought a replacement in for him when that day arrives. But until that day arrives, he's our player. If someone did offer 3m plus then he would probably triple,quadruple his wages - so why wouldn't he be interested in that - anyone would, that's life!
