The end for Belgium's golden generation.

I'm sure their fans are looking forward to losing 60% of their games but with 80% possession. Which is all that matters these days.

A more enhanced LJ. Knows **** all about management but thinks he knows all the blueprints to playing like Barca.

Maybe when you make a post like this. You give us some detail, we don't all watch sports news 24/7.

So who's this conman? And what job has he got?

Rather surprisingly, Roberto Martinez has been appointed Belgium manager.

So... are you really saying that Roberto Martinez is a conman?
I personally think that he is a well respected and highly qualified coach.

Yes he may have lost his way a little, or even reached his limit with everton.

But to call him a conman?

What I mean is he's like Johnno and Brendan Rodgers- playing boring, pedestrian football where pointless possession is key and hiding behind this when the results aren't good enough.

I honestly don't think you've ever watched a Martinez team if you think this.

He's never played 'boring, pedestrian football', his teams are known for been gung ho & terrible defensively.

He's more known for trying to out score the opposition than anything else.

He was playing 3-4-3 at Wigan when they were fighting the drop & going all out attack when it seemed the daftest thing to do.

There's a lot you can criticise about Martinez's sides but to say his sides are boring & pedestrian makes no sense at all

Liverpool under Rodgers when they finished second and Everton under Martínez when they finished fifth were probably the best two Premier League teams I've watched for entertainment and quality of football

Martinez is the primary offender for trying to live off Pep Guardiola blueprints, just like so many young managers these days. No idea what to do to create an identity for themselves and there lies the problem. Just like LJ, when the textbook didnt work, no formula of his own to fix it.

Btw, Martinez massively benefitted from taking over a David Moyes side. Well drilled defensive unit and was able to just slot in a few forward thinking players. Bilic likewise at West Ham taking over a Allardyce team. I expect he'll struggle shortly too.
