...Women were allowed to play in the same teams as men, do you think any of the big teams (or teams in general) would take on some of the stars of the women's game (Alex Morgan etc...). No sexist comments please. Interested to hear the views on this.
I bet we would if they fit the DNA, but in reality no woman is good enough to play in the men's game.
That's not true (in my opinion). Some of the top women's players are good enough to play at the lower levels and are technically good enough to play at quite a high the problem is that physically they are at such a disadvantage that their skills alone don't cut it.
I don't think we'll ever see women playing in the men's game, not in our lifetime at least and for physiological reasons not sexist.
I was once told that according to the rules, women can play in a men's side. Just the other way round that isn't allowed. I never checked to see if this is actually the case.
Can't see it, apart from the physical side, yes the players have the skills but in comparison to the mens game they also seem to have aeons on the ball in which to use them without tackles flying in. A helluva lot of players would look a lot better on the ball with extra time to use it
I think a team in Italy, possibly Perugia, once signed female players. Not sure whether they actually made an appearance Sent from my Kestrel using Tapatalk
I think that was at the time they were owned by Colonel Gaddafi's son. I think he played for them too.
The difference is staggering when you look at it, last year they pitted the Women's Brazilian National Team against RN Portsmouth who were in something like the 12th/13th tier and they still won 8-2. Not having a go at Women's football but it's signifcantly off the standard of the mens
In terms of skill with the ball and speed you could argue that a woman could be better as they tend to be more lean, but football is a physical game and a battle for the ball, I just don't see how a female could compete in that sense...unless they're from the Soviet Union but that would make them too old
Speed isn't just based on being lean it depends on muscles on your legs giving you power, the length of your legs, loads of different physical factors that often lead to men being quicker than women and I probably suggest players like Walcott are alot faster than most if not all female football players could learn to be, but yes on the skill front yeah women could be the same standard but many of them aren't baring that in mind women's football has improved alot in the last couple of years
