Agree that we should be at least looking at a loan deal for long. He's way down the pecking order at Burnley and only has a year left on his contract. Plus he's 25 now so you'd think he would want to be playing regularly. I guess the only issue would be whether it would upset the apple cart by having three CBs who all expect to be first choice.
Agreed, however I'm sure most players are realistic in their assessment of their chances. For example, I think Angus, Payne, Tuton etc have both come with the expectation that they will have to wait until an opportunity arises (due to injury or poor performances) before they can get a place in the starting line up. Whereas Long would be taking a step down as such, so would probably expect to be in contention from the off.
Oh yeah absolutely and I wouldn't want to drop either of our current CB's based on a guys form from January, especially if he was a loan player
