I think a good proportion should go into the Academy, if we can produce a few players who know they will be given the opportunity to make a name for themselves and move on and meanwhile we can make some money, that is in the long term interest of the club. Here's hoping that Bree is looked after this year and given the opportunities at the right times to improve his game.

No part of it should be spent on players IMO.

At todays prices it would probably only get us 1 1/2 championship experienced players anyway

Nothing wrong with spending it on players it just has to be the right ones.

We could spend say £1 million of it on someone like Rico Henry and them sell him for £5 million with a sell on in a few years.

Buying and selling is the best way to invest your money in football for a club like ours.

PC has already stated in the recent fan forum that it would be used to stabilise the financial future of the club. We could take that to mean maintaining Championship status and what that might require... :D

The problem with that is the value of any player we are interested in will have just doubled

It doesn't have to be now that we start buying though. That will settle down eventually.

All we have to do is say no if people are asking over the odds.

Equally we just ask for more when selling.

Rico Henry who was absolutely murdered by Isgrove home and away? He looked like a poor version of Scott Goldbourne to me. £1m would be better spent bring Izzy home. And having some pocket money left to go and buy another player

I personally think Mr Cryne should spend it on mini cheddars and prostitute's and a new west stand roof.

Nerd reinvesting in the first team. Only way for 'financially stability' is to stay in championship

I doubt there'll be any sudden breaking of the playing staff budget and wage structure as a result of this, and nor should there be. But I don't see a problem with using some of it to offer better contracts to our most important players and attract others by feeding it into the wage budget in the long run. It also means we can dig our heels in and demand more from any clubs who come in for them.

Overall, 'safeguarding the future of the club' seems pretty reasonable to me - investing in the academy and being in the bank to fall back on would be the most sensible use. And I wouldn't be surprised if Cryne uses the money to build a platform which can see ownership transferred to the fans without the need for someone with vast personal wealth to be involved.

We had a nerd in the boardroom but he went to Leeds. We don't need a nerd in the first team!

£1m would get you Rico Henrys right leg if we're talking about the Rico Henry who caused us all sorts of problems in the second leg.

    It's just an example.

You're way off with your fees though given you thought Walsall could afford hanging onto Bradshaw unless someone offered £1 million. That one made me laugh.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs have been linked with him. Doubt we'll be signing him for £1m.

I remember Gareth Bale being "absolutely murdered" by Martin Daveney, so much so that he was subbed at half time!
