Looks the way to go if that's as good as we can play 4-4-1-1. Though of course we can work on it and improve.

We did look a lot better and more threatening when we switched in the second half though.

Ryan Kent reminds me of Martin Bullock (including the lack of end product)

Both Moncur and Bradshaw looked a little rusty.

Still not over convinced by Conor and Josh as a central midfield partnership ( though both played reasonably).

I think my tele is bigger than our new scoreboard.

Not being able to get 4,000 fans into a ground on time is unacceptable.

Ryan Kent to me very much looks like a Harry Chapman type. Could be very good at times but needs bringing in gradually I just don't see him as a player we can be asking to start 30 plus games.

    We're desperate for Lloyd back.

Moncur is worrying at the minute as I'm not sure how he fits in.

Said the same to my mate about Isgrove he's the missing link in the team. Setting the pace and moving the team forward.

Can still see us going 4-4-1-1 away from home but Moncur gave the ball away a lot for a number 10 he will need to improve his ball retention and can't see him starting many at home.

One thing I also noticed about Moncur is he doesn't like to hold the ball very long. Often one touches passed and very occasionally 2 touch.

Like you say id like to see him retain the ball better. Take a touch turn and then find a man. He seems to be constantly looking to lay it off.

weve a massive hole left by fletcher and isgrove. Imho the team is now weaker than last season without those 2. Isgrove for his marauding down the wing and his never say die attitude with great ball control and fletch for his pace, ball winning ability from nothing and also his quality finishing. I keep saying it but id have felt a lot happier with those 2 in the team and not having signed anyone else.

I think they'd decided to put the turnstile operators behind the bar instead.

There were 5 serving at half time instead of the usual inadequate 2. Yippee!

Yet I suspect that when the Ponty opens and the staff get spread out we'll be back to the same farcical queues for ale that mirrored those outside the ground trying to get in pre-kick off.

Nobody gives a toss about the treatment of the fans.

Witness the scoreboard - makes you slump your shoulders to see it so small and adequate. it didn't come up with a ticking clock to show extra time. Perhaps that was too much to ask.

At least there was the performance on the pitch to lighten the load......

He needs to be more aware and have a better first touch.

In other words show he is a better footballer than he showed tonight.

Otherwise it'll be him who gets laid off.

    He isn't a centre mid.

A number 10 or a false 9. Seems more of a Lee Johnson player than a Hecky one.

    Think he's supposed to be that '1' in a 4 4 *1* 1 or summat?

Two games, both scored already and set up another. You are hard to please.

Its more when we don't have the ball or the ball is loose that's the issue. They are both good players but that doesn't necessarily make a good pair. Not as good as Conor and Brownhill to me.

Whether they can play together or not we're desperate for another one. 2 centre mids and a number 10 isn't enough!

Like Chris has stated, we are trying to combat the loss of influential players from last season - I would also add Brownhill to that last.
During our successful run, we had partnerships across the pitch, which were cohesive. At this moment, and it still is very early, we have yet to see these develop. I like our 442 setup and the philosophy which goes with it - high press, direct play. We've gone up a level and have new players to integrate in the squad, it won't happen over night. The only way to move forward is to continue to work everyday in training and develop their understanding of each others game and the tactical details involved in the 4231 and 442 formations.

There's still work to be done in the transfer market. Isgrove would be a very welcomed addition, whether or not is viable I'm not sure. Personally I think we will recruit a player on loan from Manchester United based on our relationship (Maurice Watkins) and the good work we have done in developing their starlets to become saleable assets.
