Yes but he still did 'what he does'. You can't praise one for doing 'what he does' but say the other should be doing 'what he does' so only deserves minimal praise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Come on mate, be fair. Roberts didn't just win headers today, he read the game brilliant and didn't make one mistake. He also looked very composed. To put into some perspective, Mawson, who i usually rate very highly, gave the ball away cheaply twice, which on both occasions led to a derby attack. If you are going to criticise players when they play badly, at least offer praise when they play well.
Lots of people played well today. I wanted to mentioned these two. Bree's had critics this summer. Only the other day I think a thread appeared about George Williams. Strange to me because for me James Bree a very good footballer and at 18 should become a premier league footballer like Holgate and Stones have in the last 4 years. Hes got attributes both of them haven't got. On the ball hes a better footballer than either at right back and I want to say look at Bree, isn't he good. With Roberts I see a lot of the same. In the air, good. On the ball not so. Running speed Good.
Disagree. Magnificent in the air and confident with the ball at his feet. He did hoof the ball on occasions today but only when that what was required. And positionally he was superb.
The four best players for me were (in position order rather than performance) Davies, Roberts Hourihane and Watkins. No coincidence that it's a spine straight down the middle of the team
Spot on about Davies and Watkins. In fact I thought we were just better all over the pitch. I'm struggling to think of a Derby player who was better than his opponent.
