Or another perspective on the past 4 days - two last minute goals change our results from getting 2 draws and 2 points to a win and loss, and 3 points. Can't really comment on today as such as I wasn't there. From the brief TV highlights, it looked like momentary lapses of concentration rather than rank bad defending. That's football. Happens every game, every level. Hurts when you're punished for it. Sent from my SM-T710 using Tapatalk
Aren't you the guy that was telling us all summer that Bradshaw is better than Winnall and would do the lone striker role better than Winnall? Hmmm...
Ignore them, you're entitled to your opinion. If Hourihane and Scowen were perfect, they certainly wouldn't be playing for BFC mate. I'm pretty sure we have a good record at Deepdale too, so nowt to worry about there
its stuff like this he can't help himself with, we have a young manager having to learn and perfect his trade in situ. He is a local lad which every right minded fan thinks is great so HT obviously goes in the opposite direction, much in the way we get points that do makes sense but are usually to get him into a position to have a pop at his favourite targets. The thing is its not only Hecky who is having to adjust to different levels so are the players, some more than others. Yes maybe Payne should have scored but how many new strikers have struggled with the first goal at a new club thing?. Huddersfield have had a great start to the season so a 2-1 away defeat aint that bad, but I think we have also had a good start, yes mistakes have been made and will continue to be in all probability for some time .BUT we have 6 points in the bag and if we pick up points at the same rate throughout the season we will be OK which for a first season back wikll do very well for me.
I'm not wanting anyone to be perfect LDred. But this goes down to picking a team and that's why I've blamed the Head coach in these posts because it's tactical and team selection. If you look at most teams if not all the teams that win a lot they have a ball winner. Even the manchester clubs, Chelsea Arsneal. The big two in Spain and I could go on.
I don't think we just be arrogant and think we can do things that other teams with amazing squads and brilliant managers can't.
No one will ever persuade me that you need a so called defensive midfielder. If they can't do the lot they shouldn't be playing. Sick to death of the likes of Dawson and Perkins stealing a wage, because they can actually play football.
Yes. Them two pep guardiola and jose mourinho haven't a clue have they. and don't get started on Conte getting Roman to spend 30 million on Kante. Muppets lot of them FFS
Don't give a monkeys about anyone other than the players at Oakwell. Our 2 central midfielders are as good as anyone in this league. Both can defend, pass and score goals. Just exactly what more do you want them to do?
Re: I'm intrigued tbh I think its time they coined another phrase in modern football for 'ball winner' to me that always conjures up images ( at Barnsley) players like Alan Little, Gwyn Thomas, Kenny Burns etc, from the days when players were actually allowed to put in a proper tackle in and the opposition wanted to get shut before said tackle came flying in.
