Sunderland view of them being linked with Alfie Mawson

99% have never heard of him so think he's *****.

The 3 or 4 who have heard of him, or seen him play say he's class and looks capable of making the step up.

Can we not sell to these numpties. They're very Wednesday-esque

Isn't what 99% of all clubs fans (ours included) do when they sign lesser known players?

 

I've got no problems with Sunderland signing him (for the right price) but I'd be loathe to see that **** Moyes get him, after his bare-faced lies & self-aggrandisement about the Stones deal.

 

It's usually quite balanced (this forum included), between the fans who expected us to sign someone with 300+ games under their belt, and fans who are happy to give someone the chance.

I don't recall similar discussions on here when we signed either Roberts or MacDonald, at least to the degree of which they're dismissing Mawson.

 

Used to be but not so much in the last 18 months or so because we've seen how well it's worked for us. 2-3 years ago signing guys from teams as low as Barnet and Dover would have caused much more uproar on here.

With the first half Sunderland have just had I reckon it's added to the value of Mawson some more.
