Reading are not recognised as a powerhouse in the Champ but have bought 2 cracking young centre backs in Liam Moore and Tyler Blackett. They're the sort of players we would need to replace Mawson if he goes but we're just not in that league.

Fair enough but if we can't compete for garbage players, what chance have we got for good ones?

They had an average attendance of over 17,000 last season, means better sponsor to boot. Thats one of the reasons why we can`t compete, our attendances are way down there.

Reading have recently been in the Premier League so will have plenty of money to spend. The only reason they did ***** last season was because of uncertainty with their takeover situation.

We could do with the same teams coming down and then going back up again to avoid as many sides as possible getting parachute payments.

A couple of seasons progressing in this league with the same transfer policy amongst other things, and we'll be at the right end of the table.

Some successful sides have to be shrewd and some just have money to burn. Look at Burnley a few years ago when they got promoted to the Premier League. They were similar to us.

Money doesn't talk as much as it used to. It's the know how that makes you a success.

Were we in for him then? assume we were if you say we can't compete for garbage players.

If not I don't quite understand. We missed out on a player we weren't in for. Who is on wages far higher than his ability.

Were we in for him? I didn't know.

From watching Blackett I think he's one of many young players who come through at Man Utd who end up with a big reputation for doing very little.
