No resale value unproven in the championship. On loan with a view to a free at then end of the season might be a good shout.

When you say not good enough for Burnley, do you mean a side going for the title with better options in their side already? We aren't in that position. For the record, I don't think Kevin Long is the saviour many view him as. However, I'd be astonished if we could get anyone better, without paying loads of cash. He'd be solid. At the moment we need to fill vacant squad spaces with decent players. For me resale value shouldn't be the pre-requisite for every signing at this stage. I'd happily take Kevin Long on loan or permanent.

He would be a Steve Foster type signing, solid and consistent at lower Championship/league 1 level, but will not really develop and wouldn't offer us any resale value, he would probably see out a long term contract with us, like Foster did, but not actually move us forward.

No resale value? He's got years left in him.

Bit like me pulling a bird, finding out she's over 30 and saying no. I'd never get any action, got to take what you can.

I don't think it'll be him but he'd be a top signing. My opinion like. Think we'll end up with Reece Burke from West Ham alongside bringing in a lower league defender like Aaron Pierre.

Outstanding for us in league one & behind £15m + rated Keane & a very good Ben Mee in the pecking order. No shame in that
