Now the transfer window is shut and we now know our squad , just wondering what your starting XI would be ? Here's the squad in full: GK: Davies , Townsend RB : Yiadom , Bree CB : Roberts , Jackson , MacDonald , Cowgill LB : White , Kpekawa , Evans RM : Kent , Janko , Williams CM : Hourihane , Scowen , Morsy LM : Hammill , Templeton ST : Armstrong , Winnall , Watkins , Bradshaw , Payne , Lee I'd go for : Davies Yiadom Jackson Roberts White Kent Scowen Hourihane Hammill Watkins Winnall Subs : Townsend , MacDonald , Kpekawa , Morsy , Janko , Armstrong , Bradshaw
I think Kpekawa will be in the team soon. CB alongside Roberts maybe. Thankfully we have options there. I thought MacDonald did very well on his debut, but not a starter as yet I think... Kpekawa is a ball player & a tall lad, so would play a great John Stones role, alongside the powerful Roberts. A very good combo. Hecky will look at that I'm sure. Can't see the rest of the side changing a lot, until the inevitable injuries / suspensions kick in. Hence us not blowing loads of coin. Strikers / wing players will come off the bench in the style we used last season.
Yes, but to start him over Aidy White would be foolish in my opinion. White is one of our key players, but is obviously prone to injury. We have a CB gap, with 3 possible choices, I just think he may be the shoe in there, as he's 6 foot 4 & a ball player...
Personally I'd go unchanged, apart from Sam. I know this will go down like a lead balloon, but I'd start with Marley and Armstrong
Seems strange that you would shoe in a left back to play in the middle when we have just signed a ball playing central defender.
Armstrong won,t be as effective in this league like he was last season I,d use him as a substitute for late in games.
Don't think he has a preferred position, keeps saying he can play both. It'd make sense if he was to be at centre back as then we'd have 4 centre backs & 2 left backs. If he's seen as a left back then we've got 3 centre backs & 3 left backs
Same as Rotherham with the possible replacement of McDonald with either Jackson or Kpekawa depending how good they are
if you listen to his interview he clearly says that he can play both but at this stage in his career prefers left back. Jackson is an out and out central defender so until we have seen them play cant see why anybody would have Kpekawa in front of Jackson to play CH.
We're currently third in the table, after a good start to the season. The team is exactly that, with everyone making a positive contribution. It's up to the new lads to force their way into the starting XI, in my opinion. Hopefully, they've all bought into the club's ethos which has proved to be so successful. If they're anything like a good professional (and I don't know they're not), then I believe they'll find this acceptable & will have enough confidence in their own abilities to do just that. Keeping players who aren't currently starting focused and willing to grab their opportunity when it arises is all part and parcel of man management. This is something Hecky appears to excel at.
Davies Bree (on crutches) - Cowgill - Jackson - White Kent - Scowen - Morsy - Hammill Watkins - Bradshaw Subs: Townsend Yiadom MacDonald Kpejawa Janko Payne Lee
Same team for me. Maybe give Bradshaw another start, after his goal. The new signings have to earn their place in the team, but the depth of the squad now looks a lot stronger.
I'll correct it for you Solanke Solanke Solanke Solanke Solanke Solanke Solanke Solanke Solanke Bree Burke
Yound McDonalds hed a game e i e i o and he would be part of an unchanged team at Preston for me, clean sheet and gets dropped after his debut what message does that send art. Get newbies up to speed ont training ground then let em fight for the right to take party.
