Is that just home games or overall? Whatever, we must be pushing Millwall for most arrests relative to number of fans. Wonderful. To be fair, we do have our fair share of absolute nobbers in the support, though I'm sure it's no worse that any other club.

That table suggests it's worse than all but 12 clubs

Would probably be better if that was listed /1000 supporters. Man U 85 arrests with a ~50,000 average home attendance is a lot better than us with 41 arrests and ~8,000 average home gate.

Sadly, according to that it does. As I said, it's actually far worse once you take into account our average home attendance. The percentage of clowns does seem to increase at away games as well. My missus is more than happy going to to Oakwell, but won't go away any more after being harassed at West Ham a few seasons ago by a couple of dickheads in our support.

Celtic / Rangers next week. I'm sure there will be more than that in that 1 game alone. :D

That's definitely one city to avoid next weekend. My memory of the ugly sisters derby will always be a grown man headbutting a moving train.

Depends how you view the survey. You could just as easily have titled the survey as 'Policing methods at football grounds across the country".
It might even be a survey on "Drunken people at football grounds" rather than the intimated "Violence at football grounds"

Without further knowledge on types of arrest, where, for what etc. its a pretty meaningless survey. I realise you are just passing it on, and its mildly interesting, but it's reminiscent of a Daily Mail/Express type story ... designed to provoke, by presenting statistics in a headline way, which while being factually correct, when examined more closely don't actually represent the true situation.

    I agree.
I reckon that Barnsley fans get arrested far more at away matches than they do at home matches. And is that because of a small group of tossers who are intent on causing trouble at away games? It only takes one group and if they aren't all collectively banned then the remaining members will all keep causing trouble

That's because over recent years a large group of our away supporters have turned in to absolute f*cking idiots. Maybe they showed Green Street too many times at Parkway?

You have some valid points but I doubt it's done to "provoke" Barnsley fans.

What it shows is what we all know. We have a large group of absolute cockwombles who follow us away. Yes we all love our club. Doesn't mean we are blind to the fact we have so absolute scum bags who drag our name down.

Would love the club to have a concerted effort to rid the club of these cancerous specimens. Would make going away a lot more enjoyable for a lot more folk.

They have indeed but that's what I mean, it's one (or two) specific large groups who think they can do whatever they want.

What saddens me about it is that they are known to the club, they HAVE to be. Yet they are still sold tickets. Why?

You only have to look on Facebook at some people's profiles to see them glorifying football violence and talking about it and then you look at their friends and you're like 'oh'.

    Where, what for ??

and one key element - the convictions..

Without the conviction stats this is simply - (to mirror and acknowledge the first line of your comment) a table of Police harrasment of football fans.

And My Dad - worst was the FA cup semi at Wembley followed by the Man City away game he has given up now wouldnt even go to Wembley again last year saying he would enjoy it more on Sky.

I never see problems at long distance away league games its the "Big" games that seem to bring out the morons local derbys and big cup games in my experience.

I wonder how many of those are for encroaching the playing area? Though it's wrong to do so, getting carried away celebrating a goal with your heroes is not the same as shifting 12 blocks in the national stadium to attack opposition supporters. I haven't heard of many millwall arrests for that or the semi final where they guaranteed that Bradford wouldn't get a late couple of goals by continuously invading the playing area en mass for the last 5 minutes.
