Come on lad were on a big adventure do you really want to get off before it destination??? Take a new contract with a promise that if the big time beckons for you wed not stand in your way.
Let's hope he does just that. I was one of his biggest critics but boy has he made me eat my words. The lad is immense. The complete midfielder if ever there was one.
There was a point before we made the substitutions when I was worried we could lose the game. The whole team just seemed to lose their way a bit for ten or fifteen minutes - with one exception. Hourihane chased down everything, made things happen and kept the team together for that short time. He deserved that goal, and his reaction when he scored was fantastic. What a player.
Agree - he had a spell of about six consecutive super tackles in five minutes and it just seemed to knock the stuffing out of them.
Somebody would pay big bucks for him if his contract wasn't running out, should sign a contract, get himself a few more bob a week and if a Prem club comes calling, don't stand in his way.
Three-year contract. Twenty grand a week. £8million Premiership release clause. It'd only cost us half the Mawson cash we just got/are getting. It'd bump his wages up, it'd give us a decent transfer fee in the event that he leaves. Do it, Barnsley. Do it, Conor. Everyone wins!
Stop it Donny. We've all got these things wrong from time to time. Your campaign of vitriol towards Conor was just an extreme example of it. Better to just leave it there.
We have every player contribution to the team performance so far this season. I can't say enough of how much Conor and Marley also contribute to winning games and with hard work on closing games down.
Unless we go up, which you have to imagine is still pretty unlikely, I think we have to accept he will move on. It sucks as in the current market he's a £10m player and will leave for nowt. But that's just how it goes
If we got promoted i'm still not sure he'd stay with us. No way will he sign a new contract for championship football when the league is beneath his undoubted ability. He's going to get an hefty payrise and signing on fee next summer when a club gets a ten million pound plus player as a freebie.
