Wait what? I assume this is a windup. Either that or you're very bitter. Brownhill was sensational in his time here, his all round game is simply fantastic. Honestly I've been a fan for 10 years and he's right up there with the best I've seen. Regards of how good Scowen is, this Josh was a key player in one of the greatest achievements we've ever done and is welcome back anytime. If our fans have any sense he will receive a standing ovation the first time he plays against us.
This ^^^ we couldnt have asked for any more from Brownhill He was a loan player and I am sure he had already done the deal with Bristol well before season end. Had we stayed down we probably couldnt have offered him anything and even with going up there is no guarantee we would have wanted him. But even though he knew he was going elsewhere he gave his all for us. I wouldnt be surprised if he wishes he was still here but at the time he made his decision to sign for Bristol it probably was the best option he had
Worst first touch I've ever seen. The amount of times he gave the ball away and ended up lunging in to try and retrieve it or us being hit on the break was quite remarkable. The amount of times we were caught in the hole, between our midfield and defence, was remarkable too given he very rarely got into attacking positions so where exactly was he? The fact we had possibly one of the best defences that league has seen in some time got him out of a lot of holes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Don't want to be funny mate but the lack of back up you've had in this argument says to me that you might be wrong :-D
His first touch wasn't particularly bad from what I remember. He's a box to box midfielder. Very often he'd win the ball around our own area, drive us forward and either pick out a pass or go for goal. His technique, tackling, work rate, passing, shooting and pace are all top notch. It wouldn't surprise me if he was in the Premiership one day. We improved massively when he arrived for Pearson.
Completely agree. Think the majority of reds fans would agree. Was a terrific loan signing. Not sure what wedge he's on at Bristol but doubt it will be as much fun playing down there.
Come on now. Behave. He was a good league 1 centre mid. What we achieved last year was sensational but it was due to the whole team stepping up and Brownhill was pretty average for that team. Nothing against him I just think the hero worship is disproportional but I felt that about isgrove too. Not that I didn't like either. I just feel people are putting them on a pedistal because of the good will of what was achieved. I'll take Kent on the wing and scowen in cm any day
I liked Brownhill, but I thought he was replaceable. I think he's technically very good but he plays at a pretty slow pace and that slows the phase of attacks down. Thought he also went for the hollywood pass too much when simpler options are on. I really fear for him being coached by johnson. That he made Hourihane and Winnall have such dips of form shows what he can do when he makes it too complicated and messes. I'd have Brownhill back as cover, but the form of Scowen this year has been incredible. Energy, quality, drive, aggressive tackling. A fantastic start to the new season from him.
There's no doubt in my mind that Brownhill at the very least is a good championship player. Without him there would be no JPT or promotion so in that sense he is a hero. I think anyone watching the reds back in December/January could see the drastic improvement of the midfield from his first game at Shrewsbury onwards. At the age of 22 there's no reason he can't follow Fletcher with the right guidance.
