I haven't watched the game yet (and I didn't go) so I'm not giving my opinion on this I'd just like to know why you think we lost today.
We gave away two goals that we could so easily have avoided and we just didn't click like we have in previous games. I think leaving Watkins out was a mistake and losing White didn't help either.
He's made of biscuit. Honestly thought he was feigning injury just to come off. He was getting murdered.
We gave a needless penalty away after 9 minutes which meant that Reading were comfortable and could use their possession and superior physicality ( and time wasting etc) to frustrate us. We also missed some great chances and openings and were not as clinical
We kept the same side that was 0-0 for three quarters of the Wolves game, had Watkins as an unused sub, seemingly risked Scowen who wasn't his usual energetic positive self and gave away a sloppy pen.
We were a bit naive, not at the usual intensity. Reading did a professional job on us and by the time we woke up, it was too late. We still looked the better side in ability, but beat ourselves today to a great extent..
Reading were better than us the manager should have picked Watkins. Conor shouldn't have tried a piss taking corner. I think that covers it.
Sorry do not agree with that post. Reading were full of ability, as will many teams be visiting Oakwell. Our job is to send out a team that overcomes their individual ability.
You need to be 100 percent sure before doing it that the worst that can happen is a **** shot. It was easy to see that Kent wasn't e petting it from where I was sitting.
Aside from McCleary (against an injured White?) and the goalie, no-one stood out for me as far as our squad have done lately. We were a bit off it and Reading's experience and gamesmanship turned us over.
I thought it was a set move they were doing, everyone was in the right position, dummy run opened up the space that Kent was suppoosed to run into. The ball was perfect, it was Kents fault he was too late.
Reading's lack of gamesmanship gave us the opportunity to turn a potentially heavy defeat into summat else.
Well, my lasting image of that game will be their goalie holding onto the ball like it was made of gold...
