There would be 3 players guaranteed a start at the moment. Roberts, Hourihane, Watkins

There's a love in going on with Watkins at the mo.

Over hyped and all over here.

This is because he's the only one who can give the appearance of holding the ball up front and creating summat for others.

Winnall was undroppable not so long ago.

    Add Davies to that list.

My first name on the team sheet would be Hourihane, on current form simply undroppable unless injured

    Hourihane.

Best and most influential player at the club.

Winnall was never undroppable, he scored a hell of a lot of goals last season and deserved his place in the team as much as anyone else.

We all love/like Watkins because he is the hardest working striker and possibly the hardest working player (tied with Scowen) in the team, he assists just as much as Hourihane without using set pieces, he scores quite often, he creates space for his partner and in general just improves whoever he is playing with

Hourihane for me. Eye for a pass and eye for a goal. Works hard defensively (although I could have killed him as a one-off for standing off Reading's midfielder on Saturday), and leads this very young team exceptionally.

I can't remember Winnall being fully fit and not being in the team last season.

Watkins has games when he is no more than adequate, as does Winnall. As do they all tbh.

Yes because he was scoring goals, and obviously they all have average games or they wouldn't be playing at this level

Hourihane. Main man. Captain. If he plays well we play well.

If a players scores a goal every other game or so he deserves to be in the team, anyway what is your problem with Winnall starting last season?

Connor 1st name on team sheet for me his delivery from set pieces, all round game and always likely to get you a goal. 1st choice striker though watkins, ability to hold the ball up, plenty of assists, team player and chips in with goals.

Winnall's place is up for grabs given the quality of our forwards. As for last season 24 goals of course you will play him every game you can. Winnall did summat that no Barnsley forward had done for 40 years in scoring 20 league goals that's an achievement that shouldn't be underestimated.

    No problem.

Although he didn't score a goal every other game , unless you average it out. He scored in streaks, generally speaking.

My point is that he started whether he was the right person to start or not.

And we should not do the same with Watkins now.
