23rd August: Barnsley assistant manager Tommy Wright receives bribe to bring in certain players.
25th August: JFH at QPR set up and caught basically being completely corrupt.
31st August: QPR player joins Barnsley much to bemusement of QPR fans for a larger fee than we normally pay for players

Not saying it was a corrupt deal, just that maybe it ought to be looked into? I'll put mi tinfoil hat on. Just sad more than anything :(

It was a sting there were never any dodgy dealings done regarding official transfers just an agreement to do so.

The agency they were making deals with didn't even exist.

I'm not sure what JFH has done wrong looking at the footage. Granted he's greedy for wanting as big a fee as possible, granted he wants to dodge tax by taking payment in another country. But they aren't illegal. Undesirable, but not illegal.

That the Telegraph allege Wright took money, that would be illegal, maybe even criminal if the cps thought there was enough evidence.

In corruption, various country laws apply. In the UK it is illegal to facilitate deals even if no money or goods change hands. In fact third party's who broker deals on behalf of others can also be implicated by law (speaking from a legal angle not the specifics of this case). I am guessing therefore that even the Telegraph themselves are all party to bribery for making the offers. So technical all are Negotiating a deal which JFH is alleged to be doing could be construed as that. I guess all their arguments is what it was exactly they were being offered payments to do.

Public speaking engagements isn't an issue in itself after all current football professionals get paid by Sky to give their opinions. I guess its where a conflict of interest comes in, breech of club and league rules, ethics, integrity, tax etc that will come into account. Take all the legal aspects out though and just ask, is what they did morally right? I don't think the legalities of this, being a newspaper sting will see a court.

Correct, plus we never payed 450k for Cole so the club said just like we never payed 2million for the lad from Huddersfield. So the op theory is really just coinsidence.

Fook me people are trying to make out the Telegraph were hiding behind a newspaper with 2 eyeholes listening in while **** was going down.

Not the case at all, it's a sting.

They're posing as people (investors) who want to get up to no good and basically wait to see if the 'victim' takes the bait.

*Note I use victim very lightly.
