And he's got to start upfront. Not on the wing. Surely stats in terms of wins, goals scored, chances created all show most frequent when Marley has started upfront. I don't care who he partners but every game since Marley was dropped I've always felt we'd be so much for effective with him on the field. Having Stefan Payne return will be a huge boost. Although I saw him in Argos yesterday and he has a huge pot on his leg. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Today their two massive central defenders had our strikers in their pockets, it wasn,t untill Watkins came on, he gave them something to think about and we looked a threat up front, I dare say there are loads of fans asking why he dosen,t start , but we are blessed with goal scorers this season , so who would be a manager, cannot do right for doing wrong
Fully agree with this post. SSW bagged again, which was great. Service at times could be better but we have 3 strikers that are very similar. Marley offers something diffetent and Payne is a good sub for last 20 to offer physical option.
Can you never contribute positively to anything I say? When fit again he will be very useful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Seems like for whatever reason Hecky isn't as keen on Marley as the fans are. In and out of the team or wasted on the wing. Not starting him up front is mind boggling and the goals are now starting to dry up. We found goals easier to come by when he was part of a front two.
all our goalscorers who need to be playing at the side of someone like Watkins. Armstrong and Winnall just isn't working. Forgot winnall was on the pitch today until we finally brought watkins on. Its hard to Criticise Hecky But I dont know why when we flew to 15 points with Marley upfront he suddenly decides to change it and the points and chances dry up
He should play with Winnall at the moment in my opinion. Don't think we're getting the best out of our strikers at the moment, but the rest of the team is pretty settled. Hopefully Hecky sorts this out. Deserved a draw today in my opinion. Both teams had 10 shots, it was an even game, without too many chances created by either team. But we need to stop giving silly goals away. But look at the bigger picture, 16 points from 11 games at just under 1.5 points per game is a great start when our realistic ambition is to stay up/finish mid table. Just 10 months ago we were bottom of League 1, now we're 10th in the Championship. No-one would have even imagined that in their wildest dreams Hopefully Bree and White play against Fulham, Yiadom and Kpekwa haven't done badly, but our two main full backs would make a big difference Also got to say I thought MacDonald was fantastic today
I'm not sure it's as simple as swapping one striker for another. We've gone from being top scorers to struggling in the final third, but I think it's a team thing. This isn't a criticism, as I don't think we're playing badly, but we've gone from attacking as a team, to the strikers being a bit isolated and being easy to handle. Winnall gets stick, but neither he or Armstrong had much to feed off today. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Whether we like it or not, there are some hard facts to face with Sam. He did well last year (after a poor start) to show himself a good League One striker and (at the end of the season) potentially better. But pace has always been a potential issue. For me, the jury is out as to whether he can cut it in this league. I hope he goes on to do so, but I have a fear that he has reached (or gone beyond) his level. Armstrong is class, and I feel Bradshaw will adapt with time. Marley does the heavy lifting for all of these options and so I guess I'd have to agree with the original post, albeit in less strident terms.
